From memory my electric went over the day before the gas did, but all went smoothly. In your in home display (IHD), you can read the meter units, I would take a quick photo of both elec and gas readings before you go to bed tonight. This will safeguard you incase EON play funny buggers, as EDF did to me when moving to  Octopus. On Octopus there are time you get a block of 1 or 2hrs free electricity and you get paid for what you use above what you normally use during that period, so I put the car on charge and wear the kettle out etc You have to opt in on the app, but its straight forward enough. At other times, there an option to opt into saving sesions (save energy) and you get what they call Octoplus points for every kWh you save. They have an Octoplus shop, where you can exchange the points collected over time for Octopus branded clothing or Octopus plush toys (ideal if you have young kids in the family)  Once a month around bill date, you can spin a wheel and get extra points. Mrs kezo loves it

Thx Kezo, all switched over last night. My IHD is even now showing I’m with octopus, and the rates for both are now the new ones.

I just have to wait now for them to get the 30 min readings from the electric meter. to move on to IOG or just go Did call them. Wow, someone answered straight away. EON cannot play anything, as they know what the readings are from the 30 min readings. I did provide the gas reading last night. The good thing is, as my new tariff with EON was supposed to start today, but the switch happened, so that’s better for me.

When I was on the phone earlier, as I could not give them the electric meter readings online. ( Maybe because it was on a TOU) I emailed them the pics. We moved the gas onto the fixed tariff. Plus, there are no fees to exit. So if the gas drops in April. I can move on to that.

Our gas meter is outside, but the electricity is inside, under the stairs. Had no issues with the signal. But I did open the door this morning to maybe let more signal out. My ohme was offline last night, but when I woke, I looked, and it was back online. Didn’t turn the breaker off or anything. So I don’t know if that was because of the meter update or the 4G signal in the area, or even ohmes servers.

I will sign up to Octoplus, be silly not to. I did the spins on both supplies, he he. As usual. I win zip. Gas was available just after midnight, and electricity this morning.

I charged the car up to 100% on the morning of the 3rd, and currently it’s on 92%. 3 days & I’ve had the car a year, battery health is on 99.5%. Luckily, currently, I’m not affected by the battery recall. So think I’ll be ok for at least a week. Got only one trip to Nottingham planned this week. Next week, however, 2 trips to Sheffield. I’ll add them to the car’s maps later today, and it will tell me how much I’ll likely use. Should be Ok though.
