      We’ve had the car 2 weeks. We went to Dorset last week travelling from the Northwest of England 880 mile round trip. We have the 85 model and started with 100% charge from home charger. Didn’t encounter a single issue finding chargers.

      Charged twice at Tesla Superchargers, 3 times at MER rapids and and quick 20% boost at Shell Recharge.

      Both Tesla chargers were empty, multiple free bays, we managed to use the end bay of an older v2 charger (short cable) which meant we could park in the free (none charger) bay next to it so as not to block a bay. The other Tesla was a V4 with very long cable. I was amazed at the speed Teslas were turning up charging and going.

      We were staying in Dorset and there were 2 MER rapid and 2 fast chargers near our accommodation, I topped up there 3 times just to keep on top. Only ever saw 1 other car there.

      Coming back the weather was atrocious, heavy rain and cold, the range was borderline so decided to add a boost, found a shell service station with 16 rapid chargers, only 1 was in use.

      Charging Prices:

      Tesla £18.24  32.5kw  56p

      Tesla £20.62  42.9kw 48p

      MER £13.92  22.3kw 62p

      MER £16.10  25.8  62p

      MER £8.56  13.7kw  62p

      Shell £19.60  23kw  85p

      Final point, I was very sceptical about the Motability Go Cgarge card, but I’m a convert. It was brilliant, super easy tap and go, worked every where except Tesla. It also got us a discount at MER, their advertised ZapMap price was 78p, Go Charge price was 62p. Also, not only do they not take a pre authorisation, I’m convinced they don’t even take the payment until the next day.
      A bit long but I hope some may find it interesting.

        @Jojoe glad you enjoyed your trip and found it easy enough.

        If I’m doing a long trip like that, and I’ve done 6½k since July, I usually take a subscription out. In my case I used Ionity but Tesla do there’s too and they can be done for one month at a time so it’s not an ongoing cost, I haven’t used MER yet. It would have paid for itself after your first stop.

          @Rhodgie, I used the Tesla app and very nearly did subscribe for a month but there were no chargers within 100 miles of where we were staying and I wasn’t certain I’d do the second Tesla charge.
          We usually go to Cornwall 3/4 times a year, I’ll certainly take out the subscription then as there are 3 open to all chargers in Cornwall, 1 of them, Camborne, is only a couple of miles from where we stay.

            That is good info. Less than £100 for 850 miles for a car the size of the Enyaq (and for the worst case – public chargers), that’s actually very decent. It still is a car the size of a Q5, and we’re out of the “best case weather” scenario too (albeit not at the “damn, it’s cold” stage).

            The only other thing of interest, did you charge away from the motorway, or at motorway service stations?

            edit: around 3.7 miles per kwh too, not too shabby. Guess it depends on the right foot though.

              @Rene The first Tesla was on the M5, the other Tesla and She’ll were on busy Trunk A road dual carriageways. The MER were in a harbour in Dorset. The car says we averaged 4 miles per KWh, but I’ll take that with a pinch of salt. The car was in Eco mode with drive in B for the regeneration.

                Well, lets see. You recharged 160kwh, and said that the last stint was close so you topped up, lets assume you arrived using up 60kwh of a full charge (you didn’t mention with how much charge left you arrived).

                850 miles / 220kwh = 3.86 miles per kwh. That’s a good number, in particular, again, if you take the size into account. Now i can’t tell you how spirited you drove, but either way, that’s a good result. Even more so if you consider the petrol prices in Dorset (when we went to Lyme Regis a few weeks ago, petrol was £1.47). 3.9ish is also pretty close to 4mpkwh, so it’s not that inaccurate.

                Good result.

                  Long trips and worrying about chargers is moving to a thing of the past. I hope you enjoyed a cream tea @Jojoe !

                    @Jojoe check out the location of Ionity chargers on your route too. A subscription with them is a huge saving.

                      @Rene the figures are probably even better as we had 17% range left when we got back. 👍

                      @DumfriesDik
                      So true, I was charging to 90% even when it dropped to 70% as I’m new to EV’s and was a bit nervous. I think I’d leave it till it got to 30% in future as the charge speed from 30 to 80 is a lot faster. Didn’t get a cream tea but will when we’re in Cornwall.

                      @Rhodgie
                      I think there’s an Ionity where we stop at Cullompton services on the M5, but not sure if there are any in Cornwall.

                        @Jojoe  there’s a hub of 12 in Bodmin but Tesla have more “open to all” in Cornwall so I’d subscribe to them as it gives you more options.

                        Once you get used to the car, the range and public charging you’ll be going to less than 30% but remember ABC… Always Be Charging 😁 if you’re stopped and can plug in then might as well do so unless the price is extortionate 😱

                          @Rhodgie, the fastest charge I got was at Tesla straight to 135kwh, which was also the cheapest. The slowest was Shell which maxed at 44kwh which was the dearest, but I think that was due to the cold weather. I hadn’t pre conditioned either time. It really does slow down over 80%, it was dropping to 20-30kwh at all chargers. Average time of stops was around 25 minutes.
