Advice on booking MOT please.

I just received my ” It’s time to choose your new car” letter this morning and something I’ve never noticed before says “Remember to arrange an MOT” and I’m not really sure what this means. I’ve always handed my current car back before the MOT runs out and I hope it will be the same with this one.

Do I still need to arrange an MOT? If I do, should it be with my existing dealership or, as I’m change makes, my new dealership. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you need to book it in with your Servicing dealer.

Is it also due a service?

If so, they will do both at the same time.

We had the same letter last year and this year (we extended the lease)

You can also use Kwick Fit, our dealer couldn’t fit us in with a courtesy car so we booked it in at Kwick Fit and waited 45 minutes while they did the MOT, just tell them it’s Motability when you book.

If it’s easier for you then you can use Kwik Fit or just book it into your dealer. My dealer usually calls me to book it in and if I want they’ll collect it and drop us a courtesy car, and return it once it’s done. Don’t know if all dealers collect though.

I used Kwik Fit for the mot on my previous car and will continue to use them for other mot’s, as it’s far quicker and alot less bother than going to the dealers, plus you can pop into town whils’t it’s being done.

When you use Kwik Fit for an MOT, how do they get paid?

They automatically bill Motability, just tell them it’s MB when you book and you won’t have any issues.
