Our first Motability car was a lovely Volvo V50 R-Design. We followed that with a V60, then another one. All truly wonderful estate cars fitted our needs exactly – robust, great seats, not too high off the ground, lots of useable load space for various disability equipment for staying away from home (we like to get away a lot). When the lease on the second V60 reached three years there was no equivalent on the Motability list to replace it with, so we extended the lease, like you with the intention of moving quickly if a similar Volvo came on to the scheme. Nothing did (although we came close to signing up for a Skoda Superb). Then came Covid, and we got a 6 month extension. Having extended the lease to the max, after five and a half years and no sign of a like for like replacement coming on to the scheme, we bought the V60 off Motability. The car is now eight years old and still going strong, although we miss the inclusive servicing, tyres and insurance.
