Anne ChalmersHi there
Just reading through the forum looking for alternatives to the Enyaq the Volvo XC40 could work out for us
Does anyone have any definitive conformation if Volvo are returning to the scheme and when?

Thanks guys

There is a relatively strong rumour based on a Volvo dealership that they are coming back with two vehicles, the EX30 and XC40 later this month. I’ve seen expected information release dates of the 24th of this month and the week of the 27th.
Nothing fully confirmed yet, and no indication other than opinions on trim levels, power outputs or advanced payment amounts.

Peter TNo I did ask about models but nothing definite, I mentioned about BMX iX1 going live with six models and he thought that was a wise move trying to find customers at different price points. I think I am going to hold off on the iX1 for now, and see what happens with Volvo as when you price in the extras with the iX1 and the AP you would be lucky to get get change out of £10k.

is the quality really miles ahead nowadays ? I had test drive in the new Kona advance long range last Saturday and loved the ride etc

Its what perception you have on whether its miles ahead. Yes it has interior quality, better soft touch materials. £ for £ you would get more standard equipment in the Kona including a heatpump and a acclaimed range of 319miles compared to 264 miles with the XC40.
On a personal note,I feel Vovo’s cabins are dated compared to other premium brands BMW, Merc and to even the Kona seems more modern. However plenty of folk like Volvo, in the same way as folk Like BMW or Mercedes etc. My last Volvo was a 1985 C40 and I swore then I’d never have another 🙂
November 16, 2023 at 12:28 pm #243995Kezo how much do you think the advance payment will roughly be on the base model Honda E NY1 which it comes on surely January 1st or sooner I’m thinking around £1500
November 16, 2023 at 12:33 pm #243998Having checked out a new model Kona in the showroom last week I was very impressed with the quality and equipment as well as the striking looks. I haven’t sat in a Volvo for some time but I remember it being okay but with a strong ‘Ford’ influence to its interior. Now that it’s Chinese owned I guess that it will differ yet again from the Volvo of yesteryear.

I wouldn’t like to guess mate. However I do know it has a punchy asking price for what it is (£45k) and an “acclaimed” range of 256 miles.

Check out past posts ref Volvo and Smart
(Not if but when they will rejoin motorbility)
Not rocket science once I saw their EV offerings and how well imo they would sit on the scheme

AntI momentarily got excited when I saw the title of this thread but sadly the boot on the XC40 and EX30 are far too small for our needs. Bring back estate cars! Good to see Volvo coming back to Motability but there’s already plenty of choice on the scheme for folks who want small SUVs, if you need a big load space the choice is very poor.
November 16, 2023 at 6:33 pm #244121Matt from Carwow rates the EX30 very highly…

"Come on BYD Seal!"November 16, 2023 at 6:58 pm #244130Puts me in a but of a conundrum if those prices are formalised. I fancied an EX30 and while the standard and extended range are both comfortably within my self imposed budget, the ultra is really pushing it BUT I do like the 360 camera system I’m used to in the tiguan. I am not sure i really need the extra range and it’s a BIG step from 1500 to 3600 for a camera system as I am not utterly sold on the other extras

I wonder what Matt would think of the single motor version…
Its not my cup of tea and too small for us. Shame its sister the Zeekr X isn’t here yet, as its a bit more roomier I believe, with more spec’s.
