I think the best advice is wait and see rather than listening to someone on fb, who heard it off a dealer, yet the dealer down the road said January for example 🙂

Given the popularity of the car it may be accurate.

Of course if you are a couple of months away from your current lease end, a workaround is to go to your bmw dealer an order a car. Once you sign the dealers order and its inputted to the bmw system, it then becomes a stock item. Even if they remove the I4 from the mb  list, your stock car is in the syatem and your order will be approved by mb  when your current lease ends.

If they remove the car from the mb list you cant start a factory order after its removed. But a stock item can be approved.

It doesnt make any difference to the dealer, if you cancel your order, they will have no problem selling it anyway. The sales person gets their sale either way.

I would give it a shot. Go ask your local bmw mb specialist.  They can put the factory order in, and its because of wait times. Even 3 months before your sign up date opens it can be done. When your sign up date opens the mb just i puts your data, license etc into the mb system and it approved.  I did this with my order, but my dealer was excellent.
