In Belfast you just hook up to the closest street light. I will give you an example of N.Ireland charging for cars. Newry and Mourne council have 36,000 car parking spaces of that amount they have 2 spaces with electric charging which have not worked in 3 years. Lidl are building a new superstore at carryduff it will have 2 electric charging car park spaces.

So your home charger has to be connected to a street light ? Seems odd that But then again they get up to all sorts in Belfast

October 1, 2023 at 6:11 pm #235778Jo I’m with power NI on an EV tariff. At night I think it’s about 12-13p a KW.

hi. Just had my home charger installed and awaiting delivery of my new vehicle. In NI there seems to be a lot less options with electricity suppliers. I switched to click energy day/night tariff 35p/17p. Octopus not available in my area and from reading see they offer much better tariffs. Unless I am missing something, which is possible. My local town has 2 chargers at Lidl and 4 others.

At the minute Im with Budget Energy @ 28p kWh but they don’t offer EV rates
October 2, 2023 at 4:45 pm #236017What I said about the street light was a joke. Not a lot of charger’s available in NI.
