Anyone with a licence can drive an EV. I think the question is “why SHOULD I drive a BEV rather than an ICE car? For me, the decision was purely financial, with petrol pushing 2 pounds per litre last June when I ordered, and being on a 3 year fixed tariff of 19p/kWh for electricity, it was a no brainer. Petrol prices have eased a bit since then, but once my fix ends, I shall change to an overnight tariff which are currently available for around 8 or 9p/kWh.
