    Which Mobility Car

Cupra Born added V1 trim 58kWh battery paired to 150kW motor, 0-62 in 7.3 seconds top speed capped at 99mph, WLTP range 263 miles, fast charge 124KW DC. Advance Payment £3599. (retail price £36475)

Would this persuade anyone to order, to me this makes the Megane look an even better deal.

On looks alone I prefer the Born, but looks isn’t enough.

It’s certainly a lot of money for a small basic car. Like you say @wmcforum it makes the Megane look a bargain.

I think I would have an MG 4 over this in fact I’m seriously considering a orange one.

Given the Iconic Megane is £41,240 it is such a bargain.

I’m not sure whether the thread labelled Cupra Born was really meant to be a Megane appreciation thread but this appears to be the way we’re going here.

Another case of a manufacturer sticking it’s base model on Motability for anything but a baseline AP.

If this current trend keeps up, we’ll all be driving flat white cars, with basic engines and plastic wheel trims…..may aswell have a Motability sticker on the side of the car too.

It’s a tongue in cheek comment BTW. I know one or two on here get upset if you say anything against the great establishment that is Motability.

Personally think it’s a very unattractive car, what a mess of a car, what is it supposed to be?

To be fair the megane is according to reviews better handling due to its better low centre of gravity and the only place the cupra wins is on interior style (basically seats) and rear passenger room

It appears to me that Cupra have started out with some interesting cars to get the brand going and gain a following then come up with a bland, uninspiring car slapped a Cupra badge on it and over inflated the price.

It’s still just a Seat at the end of the day bit like Citroen thinking DS is a premium product.

We have 4 Cupra Born’s where I work, being in the market for a second vehicle I have had a good look at them and have drove them a few times, I have also had a good look at the MG4 includign a test drive and while I think the Cupra is probably the better car overall theres not to much in it, however considering the difference in AP the MG is the far better proposition inless there is a specific reason to go for the Born.

Megane looks really nice, Renault have been in the EV game a while so it be a good vehicle, the main issues historically for Renaults was poor build quality.

Bjorn Nyland’s channel on YouTube is the place to go for info on EV’s. Charging, range etc. From what I’ve seen, in respect to that size of car, the Megane e tech is way ahead of the Cupra born. In my opinion.

+1 on Bjorn Nylands videos, he can take a long time to say not a lot, but you can always fast forward through the boring bits…

Best place on the web for charging times, true close to UK temps range and how far past zero it will go.  And you’ll know how many bananas you can carry.

NZ Ecotricity you tube videos also quite good, especially if you like potatoes.  And handy for seeing reviews of cars before they are released here as they often get Chinese cars before we do (steering wheel on the correct side for us – so a stronger chance we will see them).
