One of my daughters has spent the last 3 years working full time on producing Wild Isles (proud father note – her name features prominently on the credits). Her company produces top quality natural history films and documentaries for companies such as the BBC, Netflix and Disney. It is the norm nowadays that when organisations such as these commission a landmark series, they want additional dedicated off-air content, either through streaming (such as iPlayer or YouTube) or websites – often both, which expand on the subject matter or raise associated issues. It’s the way of the World now. She told me several years ago that it was a 5 part TV series.
Episode 1 – Our Precious Isles (aired 12th March)
Episode 2 – Woodland (aired last night)
Episode 3 – Grassland (airs next Sunday)
Episode 4 – Freshwater (airs 2nd April)
Episode 5 – Ocean (airs 9th April)
