Be careful with interpreting your signal meter Marc. Those things are broadband – it’s not necessarily reading the signal coming from Preseli. It could be picking up anything from DAB radio to 5G and beyond. Thinking of which, have you had a new phone mast put up locally? It’s far more accurate to swing your aerial 15 degrees either side of where you think the transmitter is and rely on your TVs signal strength readings to steer it into position.
I agree his signal meter hasn’t got 4g or 5g signal cut out but there expensive with it. I did check 5g but theres none along the west coast of Wales, however, since the goverment passed the bill that everyone should have decent internet speeds in rural areas BT as well as mobile networks have been upgrading their 4g network, which is due for completion by 2024 see pic.
The aerial Marc has is a wideband 4g filtered according to the manufacturer, Screwfix advertise it as 5g filtered? Preseli transmitter apart from freeview, Dab and 4g.
Preseli is a group B horizontal (channel 37 – 55) and Wideband (T) transmitter. For me I would have fitted a good quality Yagi 10b or 18b aerial simply because Blaenplwf is a group A(H) transmitter. As your aware a grouped aerial is highly likely to provide a stronger cleaner signal. A group B aerial is also 4g and 5g filtered.
