No, it’s the impedance. There should be no connection between the core and the shield of the cable when it’s disconnected from everything (infinite resistance). Connected to the aerial it will appear as a direct short! Such are the peculiarities of UHF aerials.
Okay that makes sense, 75 Ohms would be quite conductive so I understand now.
