Sorry to be negative Kezo, but think of small businesses. I could sell my £25 item to the over 400 million people in the EU and it would cost me from £6 to post. To sell to America, Japan and Australia would cost me £45 to post, my item would be too expensive for people to buy in those countries. Oh, and a lot of small businesses can’t get insurance to sell into the USA as they are rather litigious. It’s all well and good having new markets, but ignoring your closest market makes no sense at all, and the only reason they’ve done it, is an ideological hatred of the EU.

No not at all. It good to hear what you have to say and be constructive about it. I just wish it didn’t evolve from the EEC and doub’t we would be here now if it didn’t. Ive only sold in the UK small scale and get the majority of addressable LED’s for buiding hypercubes etc with and the electronics that go with them, Sometimes watches from China. What type of stuff were you into and take it you dropshipped most of yours at the time?

I don’t want to be too specific, but I sold computer and office accessories, not so much internal components, more consumables and accessories. I never dropped shipped, I sourced from suppliers in the UK & EU and had a small warehouse. I employed 1 person and sold to the EU and UK. Started on eBay as a sole trader in 2001 and set up a limited company and standalone website in 2005. Was great while it lasted.
