Ive always said they retailers should specify the panel type, although they probably didn’t know neitherdid Samsung back as they were the worse at sourcing paneles from else where back then. It still goes on today although technolodgy has moved on with both types of screens.
OLED doesn’t suffer this issue and its a safe bet that any OLED TV on the market has sourced the screens from LG.
