I called Motability to get this cleared up and this is what I now understand:
If you ordered before the 1st of October, you are fine and will receive the higher amount of bonus.
If you order after the 1st of October, you will receive the lower amount, £250 for 3-years or £350 for 5-years with their justification being that it will keep the costs of the scheme low… so we should see decreases in APs going forward in that case.
The new car payment of £250 is separate and unrelated from this and will run until the end of 2022 (or longer for those who were a customer as of 31st December 2021), so the new car payment will be given to new customers until the end of 2022 or customers from the 31st December 2021 until they collect their next car which may run into 2025 or longer in the event of a 5 year lease.
