Hello all – not one of the regulars or anyone has posted in the last 25+ hours – either it’s too hot to be bothered or a lot of us are too busy enjoying our cars.
went On a 70+ mile ride to day mostly motorway, A roads and a few minor joining roads – left about 9:30 and got back just after 12 – and no I don’t drive that slowly – stopped at Devil Punch Bowl for about an hour – sat had a drink and enjoyed the view – but it did nudge me upto the 500 mile mark.

So time for a general at the mo review.

The negatives – haven’t really got any – I have a wish list – but they are nothing I didn’t realise when I ordered the car.
So yes – the boot could be bigger the suspension could be smoother – but I knew all that and for less than 1k on the scheme – wow compared to others – a total winner.

Positives – lots of sensible safety kit that works well – on the ultimate lots of additional ease of driving and comfort touches.
The range – brilliant – I  am averaging overall 5 – which I consider good and better than expected.
But I get the impression that when I have to drive 250 miles and it’s cold, wet and gloomy ie wipers lights and the need to demist every so often – the battery less efficient due to colder weather I still expect to return 4.2 at 65 smart cruise on motorways and smart recuperation in variable speed areas – I don’t think many of its rivals can match that for the money – non on the scheme and you would pay considerably more of it.

So today was hot and sticky – I stuck to my plan ie 65 on motorways smart cruise smart recuperation – ventilated seats on – sun roof tilted under 50. – and the conclusion – when I got home I was a sweaty mess. So unless it is an emergency  need of range I will stick to eco or comfort – put the a/c on when needed, but just to what I need.
Until the cold weather is here I have no way of judging how much heat I might require – that test for another day – but for me the Kona EV – a brilliant car and if space is sufficient a clear winner on the scheme.
