This mirrors what I see. My S-Max 2l diesel did 42mpg & I would be spending £480 a month based on my old mileage. Due to revised hybrid working arrangements following Covid, I would now spend around £250 a month (Yay!).

I don’t track my home electricity or gas use, I use what I use. But SSE have recently increased our DD for electricity by £20 a month due to the higher consumption since getting the charger fitted. We are still on a low fixed rate for our energy & not the new eye-watering levels, nor are we on any special low rate night use EV tariff.

The Soul is costing me around £50 per month so its say 4-5x less than the diesel it replaced. That will change to around £90 a month if we move to the current average electricity price, at which point it is still much less than my outgoings would be with a diesel.

In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
