The lines are very clearly defined, and so is reality.
No one is going to start a potential world war over a small former soviet country. Ukraine shares a border with Moldova, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. Moldova is constitutionally prohibited from joining the NATO, so shouldn’t be a target.
The rest already are NATO members. Russia will not be invading Poland or any other NATO member, for that matter, since that’s a war that they know they can’t win.
It absolutely sucks for Ukraine, and i can’t imagine the terror the guys have to feel right now, but in the end, that’s reality.
One thing that does seem to fall out of the picture usually, is the fact that Russia at least to some degree has a legitimate argument. I obviously disagree with the way they conduct it, but fact remains that this is a situation the NATO amongst others isn’t entirely faultless in.
