I made an agreement with my dealer, be it only a gentleman’s agreement, that I could cancel the order at anytime up until the order gets accepted by the factory to build the car then as night follows day I will take that order.
They were happy with that but like Wigwam has mentioned that the dealers would love you to cancel anyway so to make a bigger profit on hard to get cars.
The car I’ve ordered is worth a £1,000 (retail) more then when I ordered 3 months ago but Motability would not pay more but a private buyer will.
That said I would not order a car I wasn’t sure I wanted unless something much, much better was to come along but that’s highly unlikely but you never know hence my gentleman’s agreement.
