Two RR Nene turbojets mounted back-to-back with thrust directed downwards. Very noisy.
Reds always worth watching. Spent a day with the squadron ages ago when they re-equipped with Hawks at big RAF engineering base. Very nice blokes. No flying because of weather so pilot I interviewed took us over to one of the hangars where the Battle of Britain Flight’s Lancaster was getting annual service. Had a guided tour of the machine. Really, really astounding that people got into this frail thing to go to war.
