With regard to the future of charging, I saw a remarkable video of the new Ioniq 5 charging at an average of about 150kw hitting 220kw at one point, a 20-80% charge in under 15 minutes. The bigger problem then is the charging infrastructure – how many over 50kw chargers are in the local car park….
Not enough, but they are getting better slowly, in the Kona, realistically, not much point using anything over 50kW, as the extra cost of the more powerful chargers isn’t really reflected in a massive increase in speeds, but the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 have 800V charging and are seriously fast at charging
