Okay, so swap “Supra” for “Any” £50K car. It was just an example – but it’s all about the initial price. How about “Any SUV” for £45K/£50K?
I’m sure you remember the Daily Mail article not so long ago that berated Motability for allowing (some) of us to drive much more expensive, powerful & higher-end cars. That is the reason the limits that exist today.
