Ordered my son’s next Motability car on the 21st October,a Vauxhall Corsa e.I live in a rented property so asked my landlord for permission to install a charger unit, which he agreed to.The installation date is set for Christmas Eve.
I haven’t paid the £599 deposit yet,as with my last vehicle from the same dealership i paid on the day of collection. My landlord, without going into all of his details, now informs me he will need to move back into the property on 25th January next.
I have been in touch with Motability, they are ok for me to extend my current lease (Astra diesel) but my dealer is ok for it to go ahead by using public charging points.I can under stand his point of view as the vehicle is due at the dealership this Tuesday (8th) .Looking at charging points locally,is at least to say, thin on the ground.
So technically,as i stand at the moment, i’m homeless from the 25th January. If i cancel this car,do i find myself in a position of not being able to order another one when i move? I don’t think any new landlord would agree to an EV installation in any case, not for at least 6 months,so another diesel seems to be the way to go.
It’s a difficult one,so any advice would be appreciated.By the way,i’ve been in this property for 13 1/2 years,so was ordering the above in relative confidence.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
