Are you able to change your motability car ?

My health condition has worsened and I’m finding it harder to get in/out of my low car, and into my manual wheelchair.

I have had this current motability car for just over 2 years.

Is there anything I can do ?

Any advice would be really appreciated!

Yes you can although due to covid19 the change over could take a bit longer than usual

Ofcourse due to health change you can but you will loose £600 good condition bonus. And as said above your in for a wait.

i did exactly that in march i changed from a 3dr mini cooper to a mini countryman cooper s both auto as my back has gotten too bad to get in and out of the 3dr mini i was 2 and a half years in.

good news was that they have changed the rules ref gcb you now get a prorata payment i got £400.

all it took was a phone call they were very understanding and agreed straight away. asked at the end of jan and i picked up the new car 9th march fortunately just before it all shut down.

yes same pro-rata i got just over £70 but the ap wasnt high.

                i think £500.

when i rang to get permission to change they told me straight away what the figures were so theres obviously something they look at that tells them what the pro-rata is. they even gave me a date that it went down to the next level cant quite remember the details but they said if i got the car before end of march it would be £400 gcb and £70 ap after that it would go down to x and y but i had already worked out which car i wanted and the dealer had a £500 off offer so i ended up with nothing to pay.
