Back on topic, before you get too smug, on today’s one O’clock news they were talking about pay as you go road charging for electric cars to make up for lost revenue, VAT and duty.
No mention of charges in that news item so anyone like to hazard a guess of what sort of price per mile we will see, my thoughts to start with would be about 15p per mile.
Just some quick sums that are in no way 100% accurate but a good guide as my car does 38 MPG @ about £5:50 per gallon works out to about 14p/15p per mile all taxes included so I come to the 15p per mile but of course government being government and transport being there only cash cow could well be a lot more and less not forget the M6 toll charges could be the future norm for new M’ways too.
