Yes I have spoken to BP Pulse and they have stated they will not replace the charger. I have spoken to Motability and await their response. Could you send me a link re getting the latest generation chargers please.
August 23, 2023 at 7:03 pm in reply to: BP Pulse home charger scheduling no longer available due to 2g network issues #230910That’s exactly what they asked me to do, anything bar fixing the problem by upgrading the charger. How do they expect to build up their business and get a share of the home charging market if they just try and fob folk off and people get their charger replaced by another provider. All businesses rely on word of mouth, the best advertisement for their products, and for people to recommend products so BP Pulse has let themselves down badly here.
I have the MG ZS Electric Vehicle that I was advised could be scheduled via the BP Pulse app. This was fine until the BP Pulse app stopped working due to what they state is a 2g network issue which is outwith their control. Unfortunately my car does not have the MG Smart app, an upgrade from previous models, so I am unable to schedule my charges via their app. I didn’t even know about any other apps as I had been quite happy using the scheduling feature on the BP Pulse app. In my opinion if you take out a lease over 3 years you should be able to use the features that made you decide to take out the lease in the first place for the 3 years.
No I did not get a choice so I had to believe what information was on the Motability website and take it as part of my lease. Motability have millions of pounds in its reserves, fact, and should be making sure this company either fixes the issues or they terminate the contract and reimburse customers

Motability is one of the richest charities in the UK and pays the CEO and associates handsomely so whoever accepted BP Pulse as a partner should get sacked for negligence. The fact is Motability must have found out that BP Pulse was not providing the service they said they would when they signed their lucrative contract and have signed contracts with more providers but seem to have left their disabled customers high and dry
Yes it was part of the Motability deal, free charger supplied and fitted prior to delivery of my EV. My EV if fine and will last the 3 years but the charger is no longer fit for purpose for a disabled user
Please make sure you do not get a BP Pulse home charger like me. After 2 years working fine it stopped the scheduling function in July, BP Pulse state it is a 2g network issue and not their fault. So to continue to access the cheaper overnight tariffs I need to go outside to my home charger and switch it on then do the same again at 5pm to turn it off. I had to log a complaint before I got any response from BP Pulse so it was 23 days before they said it wasn’t their fault. On a positive note my EV is great and it has been very economical to run, especially when I had access to the off-peak tariffs
