Hi All,
By way of update I decided to order the i4 a couple of weeks ago. Car goes into production next week and delivery to dealer is w/c 10th March. Can’t believe how quick it is!
I added a few bells and whistles which added a fair chunk to the AP but my car allowance form my employer more than covers the AP and the additional options over the 3 years.
Just hope I’ve made the right decision!
Hi Mikey, Thanks for the replies – very helpful! Love the color. Sadly not available anymore.
With regards to the suspension its not too late to have the ‘Adaptive M Suspension’ added. Much to my surprise (i thought it musty be a hardware change) its actually available via an over the air software update from the BMW connected store – https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/shop/ls/cp/connected-drive
You can try it out for a month (£18) or £280 for 3 years.
There are several other updates available too.
My local dealers aren’t budging on the discounts for options unfortunately. I’m desperately searching for a dealer that will offer something!
Hi, Thanks the reply, most apprecited. One of the first questions I asked was availability. They have build slots available for March delivery which I was quite surprised by. Neither of my local dealers are willing to do anything off extras hence my search for a dealer that will.
Hi @GlossGuy,
Am I correct to say your local BMW dealer agreed to 15% off options in addition to £500 cashback? My local dealer isn’t budging on discounts for options so trying to find a dealer that will offer something – 15% would be nice! Perhaps you local dealer would like some more business?
Hi Mikey,
How are you getting on with it? Any regrets? I’m can’t decide between the i4 and the refreshed EV6.
Did you add any options and if so did you manage to get any discounts from the dealer?
Jez
Evening everyone,
Largely disappointing Q1 pricing but the additional taxes for so called expensive EV’s in addition to the average cost of cars, particularly EV’s, continuing to increase everyone including Motability customers are being squeezed financially at the moment. It was to be expected really.
Whilst the 8K AP for something like the top spec Kia EV6 sounds ridiculous it is a 55K car! If you were looking at a private lease with reasonable mileage, including maintenance and insurance I would imagine this would set you back at least £800 pm. As a Motability customer it’s still far cheaper than having to fund this particular car privately.
I’m really not sure what to do for my next car.
Jeremy
Perhaps I should add, both previous advance payments were made via credit card the most recent of which was with VW who didn’t question it.
Hi Brydo
I’m not sure I follow? Motability suggest its not uncommon (https://www.motability.co.uk/about/how-the-scheme-works/payment-and-cost-for-cars/) “Some dealers do ask for a holding deposit when you place your order, but any deposit paid will be deducted from the Advance Payment you pay when collecting your car.”
