      I saw my car was a 25 build when I set up the app & as UncJ & others mentioned previously I was aware of the differences .. luckily for me I wasn’t bothered about the 360 camera so I accepted the differences before leaving home .
      My dealer showed me the spreadsheet & my order was 24 & I was told that I didn’t have to take the car at that point. He accepted that it was unacceptable for me to travel there & have a car which wasn’t what I ordered & said that he was going to contact his other customers expecting 24 to let them know it may be a 25 .. whether he did or not I have no idea. He said that he wasn’t aware prior to me getting there but I do not believe that unless he didn’t physically go up to the car & look at the seats /wheels etc ? As they cared very little about me as a customer I can well believe he didn’t know .He tried to say I was getting a good deal with wheels / seats which at my order point were added extras but as I said it’s not something I wanted anyway so I didn’t actually benefit & as the camera would cost more I wasn’t better off .. anyway not helpful to you just my experience.

      Reason was my build date as factory set up for 25 models was my dealers explanation.

      I can totally understand your frustration & anger especially as it was something you wanted specifically & had I been the same I would have not taken the car at that point .

        Got there in the end Jen, so pleased that you’re happy with the car even though it wasn’t exactly what you ordered or were expecting. 😀👍

        Cannot disagree with a single word you wrote there. Dealers are shooting themselves in the foot by not being completely honest with their customers. Most of us have faced half truths and, worse maybe, being ignored by dealers rather than give us the facts. Like you, I do not respect anyone that treats me in that manner no matter who they are or what the situation may be.

        Like you, I’ve had a number of Volvo’s over the years and currently drive one but I doubt I will even consider getting another in the future due to all of this. The temerity of my dealer in the last email crowing the line “I’m not responsible for delivery times” etc being the final straw. They’re not responsible, true. But they should behave in a responsible and honest manner and keep the customer fully informed with information, no matter how little it may be, at all times thus providing an honest, open, respectful business relationship. Bare minimum in my book! [rant over 😁]

        I totally understand all of your frustrations & anger about how you are/have been treated .. it’s absolutely not acceptable on any level & them making excuses doesn’t make it right at all . If it came across wrong I apologise .
        I did say that to my salesman & the manager of the dealership.

        Also  that most people would prefer a honest conversation being ghosted & having calls /emails ignored is within the control of them personally & has nothing to do with the fiasco caused by ‘Volvo’.Take care all & keep us all updated , Jen xx

          Hi everyone 😊 I collected my Volvo xc40 mild hybrid today .. mine was ordered 19/12 if you remember & I was told end April early  May as an estimate for delivery .. he admitted to avoiding talking to me as he was embarrassed at the lack of info from Volvo  .. I said to him from my perspective I would have preferred honesty from him not avoidance ..  I also said the forum gave me more info than they did plus kept me optimistic ..despite previously having a high opinion of Volvo brand & an owner privately for 17years after this experience I’m not sure I would get another . Volvo the company need to own up to the fiasco & admit it giving clear timescales to those still waiting for delivery of cars & apologise at the least .

          He showed me the spreadsheet they have with very limited info on it .. mine was ordered as a 24 but delivered as a 25 .. seats as you told me were now charcoal plus no 360 camera .. he went to discuss with his manager as I said I wasn’t happy .. he said to me I could refuse it based on the fact they didn’t send me the car I ordered. He also has a list of other customers to now call  to say he has no idea if they will get 24 or 25 until they turn up 😳
          He said about the seats being £750 & bigger wheels at £750 but I said to him if I wanted those I would have ordered them as add ons ! Plus how much did they save on removing the 360 camera ?
          I went & sat in the car to think about it but weighing it all up I’m not going to wait another few months to go look for another car with 360 cameras/ grey cloth seats but resent being treated so poorly by Volvo.
          Motability specialist said that it has made him so uncomfortable & stressed he was contemplating resigning after working there for 8 years .. I can understand that as I feel they have been treated poorly too by Volvo clearly they value the sales teams about as much as they do motability customers .

          I love the car it’s a delight to drive & despite it not being fully what I was excepting thanks to you keeping me informed I had mostly come to terms with it ..I’m not disappointed with it ..  I did also say to him how bad it is that so many are still waiting & most still haven’t had honest conversations with the dealer they are dealing with .

          He agreed & accepted that I was right to be disappointed & you all absolutely are right to be fed up but that they are still in the dark !
          Not at all helpful to you all I’m sorry to say .. I will keep watching this forum & look forward to seeing positive news from you all soon , thanks again for all the help & advice , Jen xx

            Hi everyone 😊 sorry to not see a lot of positive news for you all waiting..I am due to collect my car on Saturday & dealer called yesterday confirming the appointment as he is off for a couple of days . My stomach did drop when I saw his missed call as I was worried it was a problem . He encouraged me to download the Volvo app which I did & entered the Vin number which showed my car is a 25 build not 24 as ordered.. to be honest I’m not bothered about the 360 camera .. my extras were the spare wheel & protection mats which are add ons so apart from seat difference I think it’s the same ? I feel awful that some ordered early December & mine was 19/12 .. will hopefully post a pic after I collect .. Will keep an eye out to see how you get on & really hope they all start arriving soon 🤞 thanks to you all for your help/ sharing of knowledge & humour on this bizarre Volvo experience , Jen xx

              That’s brilliant news for you! 😀

              Easiest way to tell the spec instantly is if grey cloth seats it’s a MY24. Black microfibre and it’s a MY25. To be honest I’d highly doubt dealers have any MY25 cars yet for motability orders as it’s only a few weeks since the factory would have been retooled so not enough time to build/ship/deliver.

              Thank you I was shocked when my dealer called as was resigned to it being end of month or early next .
              He said it was built April so will see which I get & at least now thanks to you  will quickly know which it is .. I don’t mind either way as I’m missing driving it’s been weeks since my old Volvo c30 went to scrap via Ulez ..

              Really hope more positive news coming through for everyone else waiting 🤞Will post picture next Saturday , thanks enjoy your weekend everyone, Jen 😊

                Hi everyone🙂 I had a call from my dealer to say my car has arrived at the dealership.. my order was placed on 19/12 an xc40 dark petrol in silver with a spare wheel /protection pack mats .. he said mine is one of his first motability to be given out  … Like Steph I’m shocked as I’m never first usually .. wanted to have me in on Wednesday to collect but I can’t do that day so I’ve arranged next Saturday .. all my motability paperwork reflects this change .. insurance documents raised ready to sign with number plate etc so seems legit .. I’m grateful to you all for keeping me informed as learnt more here from you than my dealer which is clearly wrong on all kinds of levels & I will tell him this when I see him  ..I will post proof of life when I do collect next week .. I am hoping you all get positive calls this week too 🤞plus thanks everyone for advice on specs etc as will definitely look at what my build is as wouldn’t have thought to look when I pick up ☺️was told 360 cameras so if I don’t get them will know it’s a 25 build that’s right I think ..

                  Hi everyone in this bizarre’club’we find ourselves in ..
                  I called my dealer -South East London for an update on my order placed 19/12/23 ..initially he had no news just that it would likely be end of May but confirmed it was built … a few minutes later he called back & said an update had just come saying  my car was built in April & is now in the Uk 🇬🇧 plus has a number plate assigned 🤷‍♀️I’m not going to celebrate just yet as we all know I think until you get confirmed collection day best to keep quiet 🤐 Hopefully positive news will start to come through for you all too 🤞

                    My dealer left a voicemail yesterday stating that my car should be coming at the end of May though he said he hadn’t heard from ‘Volvo ‘ so not sure how he has come to that conclusion! He also said that out of 60 cars expected in March only 30 have arrived – how many are Mb I cannot say ..
                    I don’t trust myself to speak to him directly yet as I feel really let down by his lack of honesty … if they would just all be honest it would be a start .. if as reported they all had an email from Volvo telling them what was happening why not just be transparent?

                    It would appear we are all still in the dark about our cars ?

                      Hi everyone.. similar experience for me with my order placed just before Christmas with a delivery indicated early May .. lots of regular updates until last month when my dealer contact went quiet .. I contacted him a couple of times but wasn’t concerned until he called me back to say no idea what’s happening with my car & couldn’t tell me when I would get it .. disappointing & frustrating.. my previous privately owned Volvo was non compliant to Ulez so was unhappily scrapped 4 months ago . I have learnt more from this thread than from my dealer which is a massive concern especially as many of your experiences are as poor as mine … hopefully some of you will have had an update with positive news ?
