Ydna Talbot Alpine (Solara)
Mums first car I remember, a hideous 2 tone brown monstrosity that my father wrote off in 86′, mum loved it, she divorced him a year later lol
We’ve quite enjoyed using the Sat nav on the focus St for the past 3 years, seen many back roads, winding single lanes and dirt tracks around Scotland that we would’ve missed with a better Sat nav. I’ve learned not to question the female voices in my house, so simply do as I’m told by Mrs Sat nav.
I’ve missed many turnoffs on the roundabouts as the Sat nav can’t keep up, meaning long detours.
Funniest thing I’ve heard is my son says in his Scottish accent “have a gay son” and sync turns on navigation lol
I look forward to seeing the shock on people’s faces when I let others in or use my indicators lol
Alhambra, smax and sharan door sills were too high, bmw and touran fit our needs, can fit our family plus basketball wheelchair. Galaxy was huge but family vote was clear winner for the BMW.
I have a small collection, which grows every birthday/xmas, they all sit in a nice glass top box to charge the solar powered ones. Mix of g shocks, tissot and an ugly Ben Sherman that my father in law picked on behalf of my late wife whilst she was in hospital.
Today I got the call from Ford, they were unsuccessful in finding me a galaxy from stock. Citroen proved to be a no go as well as felt a bit on the tight side.
So that left a final shootout between the vw touran 1.4tsi seal vs BMW Gran Tourer 220i m sport……
30th September (not holding my breathe) delivery date given to the next Flying Scotsman family wagon is the BMW. Sadly no discount from the tight Scottish dealers.
I went for privacy glass, larger fuel tank and lumber support for the missus. Oh and colour blue obviously!
We live 20 yars from the sea, seagulls love a clean car, wished I’d bought shares in microfibre cloths the number we use. Auto glym fast glass is ace, even use it in the house for tv stand.
Next to none to find in Scotland. But bit of a search and I found 3 at Harry Fairburn in Glasgow, bit of a long drive for us to view, but it was a scorching day out in the sun. After a 45 min wait in the used dealership to wait for young lad to let us take it for a test drive(we only wanted it unlocked to check for room and accessibility for sun) it totally ticked all the boxes. Huge inside, easy entry, (Alhambra we tried on drive home was to high up), lovely driving position.
We liked the car so much we went into parks of Hamilton to see if we could get one quick. Going to get back to me by Mon, if it’s factory order, we are going for BMW gran tourer 220i msport, everyone loves it.
Monday is d day
Glenford is worth the trip just to see the new motability guys moustache
Ramsey was at school with my wee brother and was excellent when I looked as at DS at Duthies. Glenford is where I got my Mondeo estate and focus St estate from. Marshall has now taken retirement but was so nice and genuine.
After a trip today up the Perth motor mile, we’ve narrowed it down to 5, Citroen grand c4 spacetourer, touran, bmw Gran tourer, grand c max (£995 and can get one immediately) and taking trip up to Aberdeen tomorrow to see a galaxy
My uncle’s cousin missed one for England, Chris waddle. This’ll be fun
Buy that German a pint
Oooh mma stuff here
Thank you all for the warm welcome.
What a game! What a comeback!
I’ll be cheering on Columbia, not just because I’m a Scot, but also because my dad married a native Columbian and now lives in Bogata.
I’d call that an abomination, rolls should only hae black puddin with fried egg on it. Mother in law calls it slicey.
I love to wind up my Welsh missus who doesn’t know a neep from a swede
I spent an evening trying to convince myself I needed this car in my life, but reality kicked in. I really need room to fit a basketball wheelchair in it.
