TheSUVGuySpoke to motability today and they’ve been told the xc40 hybrid couldn’t make it to the scheme because it’s too expensive which is annoying as it means they didn’t decide to change the price cap for it mehhhhhhh

Lord Muc<p style=”text-align: left;”>Ha, you didn’t need a crystal ball to see that coming, they have got to rethink their business model on hybrids and EV’s.</p>

MaccaHardly surprising given Volvo won’t even provide metallic paint anymore.

I thought I’d read that the criteria is that there has to be a model with a trim level under the cap? Which there is! Or is there another cap for EV’s?
? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
January 16, 2020 at 6:50 am #103220I’m still coming to terms with the fact that Lance Armstong was a cheat – Now this.
January 16, 2020 at 7:10 am #103222Next I’ll be reading that Trump has got to the Whitehouse! ?

January 16, 2020 at 8:46 am #103232What are they going to do when in 2 years time the car market has moved towards electric and they still have none on that are anywhere near the top of the list and just the few basic crap ev’s/hybrids that are on now?
How many people leaving the scheme will it take to prompt them to get with the times?
I know they are usually a couple of years behind so with the electric market moving so fast it’ll be the equivalent of 5 years out of date, who’s gonna want an electric car that’s so out of date and may even struggle to find charging points as the standard will probably have changed?!?

Lord MucWayne, I guess they consider hybrids are different models, however. This again shows motability, unfortunately doesn’t really know what it’s doing or where it’s going. It should be championing electrification, but its stuck in it’s old way of doing business. Unlikely the new mini EV, or the VW ID will make it on.

TheSUVGuyIt’s just really frustrating it was on their list to come on the scheme for so long, they probably just kept being stubborn trying to get more of a discount instead of changing their rules… oh well
January 16, 2020 at 11:31 am #103247Since the change of CEO, there seems to be a definite move towards making profit rather than catering for the needs of the disabled.
My suggestion is that there should be a group of representatives who use / have used the scheme, which would meet with the CEO on a quarterly basis.
There needs to be more transparency.
January 16, 2020 at 11:53 am #103251Unfortunately they have a captive audience, new CEO is code for new broom.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
January 16, 2020 at 12:26 pm #103252Since the change of CEO
Mike Betts will step down from the Board, no later than May 2020
January 16, 2020 at 1:11 pm #103254So is he making as much profit before he goes to earn maximum bonus and pension.
January 16, 2020 at 1:23 pm #103256Make loads of changes for the worse just before you leave and nobody can touch you because you’re leaving anyway and then when the new CEO comes in and changes a few things back to close to what they used to be but still a little above and making them more money he looks like a star to everybody in his 1st month in charge.
It’s all smoke and mirrors that ultimately cover up the fact they want more profit and sod the disabled, it’s a long time since this was a disabled focused scheme, now that moniker is just an excuse to dodge the tax and print their own money, don’t get me wrong, it does help put disabled people behind the wheel of a new car every 3 years or so but it no longer strives to improve the service it offers with regards to giving more to the customers and getting better deals for less, all we are seeing is a steady decline in spec of vehicle and rise in prices, just like any other business really and not led by thinking about the disabled!

Yes, I imagine that is what he is doing, sliding those pound coins off his desk into his bag. He is, in fact, Arthur Daley. (younger people use google)

I’m absolutely with you on that one Elliot. If for no other reason than to explain things to us. Whilst there are many knowledgeable people here, and I appreciate all of their input, a foot in the Motability camp would be a great idea, if rather unlikely.
