Yes, back to life, back to reality.
If things get any worst car factories will be switching car production to tanks and armoured cars and not sure Motability can do anything about that.
Worst crisis for the World since the Cuba missile crisis in the sixties.
I think the Motability problems need to be put on the back burner for a year or so.
March 7, 2022 at 1:53 pm #179534Yes Martinod things will get better.
No chance of lower APs in the short term but maybe in a couple of years. The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.
Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.March 7, 2022 at 2:42 pm #179541The economic factors which determine prices are complex, and at present subject to great uncertainty. It is therefore extremely difficult to give a forecast with any degree of accuracy.

March 7, 2022 at 7:32 pm #179577Martinod, yes & no I suspect. Whilst motability will never (imho) return to the pre Daily Fail crusade days things will, at some point, start to improve again. You have to remember, apart from the extras like ins, breakdown, tyres & a very good mileage allowance, they are just another lease company and subject to all the external factors the others are. When (I choose to be positive and think when not if) things start to return to something more like what we used to consider normal then I’m sure the scheme will do the same.
March 7, 2022 at 8:01 pm #179580I’ve been a Motability client for many years and they’ve looked after me very well. The current situation is not Motability’s fault, it is the result of recent very rough years globally.
The world is in a precarious state at the moment, and I’m personally grateful for the life I’m still able to lead in such troubled times. Not having to worry about transport is a huge plus when walking is both painful and problematical. We might not get the vehicle we want currently, but hopefully things will improve with supply, and meanwhile we can extend leases if necessary.
I have a first service booked for next Monday, and a dealer from ten miles away has arranged to collect and return my vehicle without me having to do more than wobble to the front door, which is so helpful.
I’m watching unbelievable suffering happening right now in Ukraine, and I pray that these innocents survive. For me, it puts into perspective our ongoing concerns about greatly reduced vehicle choice and the price of fuel etc during such frightening times.

WarkmanAt the moment the world is staggering from crisis to crisis wether they be man made as some believe or just bad luck.
outside of Motability, prices across the world are rising.
As you know, first we had COVID which stopped car manufacturing, then the chip manufacturing fire, now the inability for wiring harness companies to get replacement wiring away from the Ukraine.
people have not been going on holidays, or out to eat for two years and many have put the sums saved into ordering a new car so demand is still high.
in many car hire firms, they sold off their fleets to save money and now can’t get replacement cars
you should see car hire prices in the USA, we normally book a full size SUV for two weeks around £800, currently for later this year, the cheapest quotes to rent are £2,900 for the same car!
