Dear all, expecting delivery any day now for my new Volvo, when ordering the advance payment was £4499 or so today it’s £1999 , I assume I pay the lower price or will I have a battle with my dealer?
      thanks e

Unfortunately you’ll have to pay the price when you ordered. Your dealer “might” change it to the new lower price. Motability don’t offer a price guarantee anymore and it’s against their terms. If your dealer won’t change it then it’s a case of cancel and order at newer lower price and either wait for new one to be delivered or dealer “might” allow you the one that’s been delivered.

I like sitting outside RAF bases all day pretending to be a photogramapher

Ask your dealer to resubmit the order at the lower AP or cancel and reorder if they don’t.

It’s a 5 minute job for the dealer to cancel the ‘order’ on the Motability system and resubmit at the lower AP. You would still receive the same car, as the Motability system is just an admin thing, not the actual vehicle order. Many of us have done this via helpful dealers (my BMW dealer did it without me even asking).

However, if your car is within days of being delivered, you may find that your dealer is unwilling, for fear that they may get some sanction from Motability (although this is extremely unlikely). I believe that Volvo dealers aren’t the most helpful out there. I would certainly ask and hopefully they will oblige but, if they won’t, with that level of price drop I’d be tempted to cancel and re-order. You are quite at liberty to do this at any stage prior to entering your PIN on collection day. Unless the dealer is bloody minded, you would probably still get the same car! Let us know how you get on.

Beware, the EX30 has been pulled from sale due to all the issues owners are having with this vehicle

unfortunately it’s been plagued since launch

Why not call the dealership and ask them?

If they say nay then remind them your within your terms to cancel and reorder or go elsewhere and order again. That way they have a car on the forecourt they might struggle to sell (current software problems permitting) which will rapidly cost them money!

Or they could do the honours and charge the current AP
