Volkswagen new Match trim

Has anyone ordered the old trim since Volkswagen changed their offering to the Match? I was going to order ID4 style pro, which when I contacted them motability insists is available and Volkswagen have not told them of any changes, but the dealer says they just no longer have paperwork to do a factory order of id 4 style pro.

I could order a stock model but as my window is open for ordering but lease end date is beginning of May the dealers are understandably reluctant. But also they’re again not sure how.

I’ve emailed my dealer, I asked if they could move on the AP I’ve agreed on and he said no, as expected, so suggested cancelling my order and re-ordering the Match when it goes live. I won’t miss the 3 zone climate or the Pano roof as much as I’d miss the £700, ha. It does delay the process again slightly but it’s not a deal breaker, for me.

I called to check on mine, as I orderd it the first week of January and hadn’t heard anything yet.

Told the guy I spoke to said the order has been accepted, and he said yes but no build date yet. VW have acknowledged the order, though.

I thought they’d have done that when I put the order in back then, and it was showing as accepted.

I was asking about the powered tailgate, which the match gets, as that would make my life a lot easier. Saving £700 and getting that would be awesome. He wasn’t sure it would be on the Style Pro, and I was getting the impression it was an optional extra.

He was off when I called, but I might phone next week and change mine to the Match Pro once it’s on the scheme. Will think about it over the weekend, and take a drive down to see the guy I spoke with when I ordered the car.

                Thanks @Nas89 ?

Just had a quick look at match spec and it loses leather heated steering wheel, keyless entry, tri climate control which is rear passenger climate and match has 65% tint on rear glass! Style pro has 90% and match has no pano roof which we know.

Match gains electric boot, no where is style spec it says about electric boot sorry ?

I think over 2 months without even getting a build date seems crazy, and I do like the powered tailgate so that’s an added bonus for me.

My only concern is if something spectacular appears when the new deals go live, then I might end up cancelling altogether and looking at something else! Worse problems to have though I suppose

I’m not looking at anything else, so will be one of the 2 ID.4 models for me 🙂

I’ve got my charger ready to go, and possibly a Match Pro might arrive earlier than the Style Pro as I presume the Match is in production already?

                        Thanks @Nas89 ?

Just had a quick look at match spec and it loses leather heated steering wheel, keyless entry, tri climate control which is rear passenger climate and match has 65% tint on rear glass! Thanks so much. I didn’t realise that i lost keyless entry, so must have missed it. I had spotted the steering wheel when I checked it a short while back, and that’s no problem for me as we can preheat the car.

I’m always in the front, so not too worried about the odd back seat passenger I have. I  was under the impression that I wouldn’t have a powered tailgate, so not too disappointed that it’s not on there.

Got some time to have a mull over it, and having had a look, the panoramic roof does look lovely. Will have a chat with the salesman at VW when I get back from the boxing.

Hoping to see lower APs for similar spec’d and sized EV’s – like the Q4, but do have my heart set on the ID4, so I do think it will take something particularly special to change my mind.

I’m hoping the idea that because the ID4 Match Pro trim are already in production, it may turn out to come sooner than the Style Pro would have. But all we can do is wait and see.

It still has the Leatherette-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, heated, with touch control and the Keyless entry and starting

I hate to say this, I had just about no information for 15 months and then a further 3 months on my ID3. VW were shocking and it is disappointing to hear it’s not much better now.

That doesn’t sound good about the build date. I ordered mine the second week of Jan, build week confirmed two weeks later.

It’s now in the country, awaiting transport to dealer (tomorrow) and registering. Well on track for first/second week of April and plenty of time before collection date.

Strange how it’s all over the place with delivery times.

Like most things EV with motability, I’m guessing it’s a lottery.

I’m not in any massive rush, anyway. I only had the charger fitted a few weeks back.

Will go down and have a sit in an ID4 with the pano and one without. If I’m not that bothered by the lack of, will likely re-order the Match Pro, and spend the savings on better tickets for the UFC in the summer 🙂

Been mulling about this as my id5 style pro is now £1000 cheaper on the new match trim. The new model loses what seems to be the ‘design pack’ priced separately at £900 ie panoramic roof ( which I loved) super funky adaptive headlights etc. so if I changed to the match pro to get like for like ( excluding the electric boot thingy which I’m not fussed about) it’d be the same price less £100 and a wait as my car is currently waiting for me at the dealers ( 11th May). So if all stays as current I’ll stick with my original order

I agree manual seats in most of these high end cars is just plain thoughtless. The only car that had them out of the cars I looked at (q4/id4/id5/enyaq) was the Enyaq but the centre console just seemed all over the place and not intuitive at at all.

I’m eagerly awaiting the new price list on Monday to see what happens with the ID4?

I don’t think I’ll switch to the Match as I really love the Pano roof but a GTX would definitely tempt me.

I just need to correct something I said at the beginning of this thread. The match DOES have heated seats , the VW specs had just gone live the day I was ordering and I think either I miss read them or they weren’t complete. I’m sticking with my ID5 style pro order as I absolutely loved the feeling in the cabin with the panoramic roof. However if anything happens to my order to mess it up ( stock order and I’m convinced it’s going to be given to a private customer) then I’m back to the drawing board and will consider q4 again if AP improves. If that top spec acid yellow Enyaq ever joins the scheme I think I’d cancel everything and order that. It’s spectacular. I do love the bmw i4 but it just screams uncomfortable ride to me , I had to give back a spectacular bmw 3 series sport model as the ride was simply too hard it was agony ( non motability this was when I could still work and had a company car) . It’s 4 am, I should be asleep. The joys of disabling pain eh ?

We eliminated the i4 as it was too low, felt very claustrophobic inside (shallow windscreen, almost as if the sun visors are down) and rear seat access, but I don’t think that any reviews have suggested that the ride is poor though? A Sport model as opposed to the M-Sport might alleviate any concerns, but you can get the M-sport bundled with the M-Sport Pro pack which includes adaptive suspension. Also, FYI, the 3 Series Touring M-Sport models now have adaptive suspension at standard, but the only model we are offered is the 330e at an eye watering £7,999 AP.
