Does anybody know of the times it takes for vehicle to be delivered from Port to the dealership? What are the UK Port schedules like? (In England preferably)
Especially in Covid-19 and Lockdown 2.0, was wondering if anybody can share their own experience (apart from other than waiting). I have my vehicle status to at “Port of Arrival”. Are number plates also issued at UK Port? Cheers.

Hi Dave! What vehicle have you ordered. My 2GC was at the port of exit yesterday and I’m wondering the same.
Hi Jan! I ordered the 3 Series Touring. I had the status as “Port of Exit” for a good 1 week and a half around end of October. Your 2GC most likely is being processed with the logistic partners for delivery IF its built in Munich.
I just hope it doesn’t take longer here at the UK Port.

That’s great to hear Jan! Yes I hope it does. These last bit of the process are the hard parts which is waiting! Mine is still at the Port! Live Chat have said the scheduled delivery is this week but they do not know how long it could take as due to lockdown it can cause delays. Quite frustrating if handovers are allowed then delivery is put to halt. I’m sure logistics are classed as essential. Patience *sigh*
Hi dave. With my 3 series it was at the port of entry for just over a week before it arrived at the dealership.
As for the number plates the dealer usually allocates the number plate when it arrives . With my 2 series that I had 3 years ago the dealer emailed me a choice of number plates I could choose from but didn’t this time but worth a ask just incase there is a number plate that stands out for you.
It’s been well over a week Rob but i’ll wait until the end of this week then contact the dealer. I had no idea the dealer allocates it. That would be an added bonus if I can choose one. Thank you for confirming!
What do BMW genius estimate your delivery date to be?
Hi Jan, the genius team mentioned scheduled delivery is on the week of 9th. Now with Lockdown 2.0, they stated this could cause delays but I don’t see why it should as the logistic sector is essential. No tracker available which also doesn’t help.
On the order invoice it stated est delivery end of November but the build was pushed well early.
Similar scenario can happen to yours. Order pushed earlier then delivery taking forever, the waiting is horrible. I recall a few other members being impatient and some even get no response! I’d rather wait till lockdown eases then instead! Fingers crossed I get a heads up this week and to everyone who is waiting.
Hi Dave, as of today my car is in the UK and they’ve brought my delivery date forward to next week.

Atiq, you need the order number from the dealer. Live chat are very helpful.

Supposedly our delivery date is no quicker however, Truthfully we was hoping that it would be here for my Wifes 30th but that isn’t going to happen. (17th)Apparently we are still looking at the first week of December 🙁
I wonder why Maffume? It seems strange it’s taking so long.
Atiq, as Jan mentioned you would need a order number from your dealer and simply just provide it to Live Chat and they will give you an update.
Maffume, mine arrived in the UK at the start of this month after 2 weeks even though they’re right next door!
In regards to your order, I am aware some 3 series Saloon models are being built in Mexico but that still shouldn’t create further delays. I just received a response from mine saying they’re still waiting and there are 5-10 other vehicles they’re also waiting on. Perhaps a bulk/collective delivery is being made?? Hopefully by next week I get a final update!

Honestly I want to bang my head against the wall. We are still looking at early December, which is rather annoying.

The longer it takes the more frustrating the whole thing is with both lockdown one and two restricting progress now it seems.
I think its sad because we probably regret getting the car now with the time its taken.
Still nothing as of yet Jan. Most likely next week otherwise I give up. I don’t believe it is anything to do with Lockdown 2.0. They’re just waiting it out because they want to do a bulk delivery along with othef customers. Stingy dealership!
Also, I’ve noticed yours Jan has speeded up real quick! Maybe the 2GC is high demand. Remember January 2021 was your delivery?
Maffume, a total of 4 and a half months is BMW’s current production wait time. Ordered mine mid July so it kind of makes sense.
Yes, its been relatively speedy from the build date.
Bmw Live Chat: The status of your car is “in transit or storage”. The estimated time of arrival is the week commencing Nov 8, 2020.
So definitely in storage as it is the 13th today. Fingers crossed for next week!
