      I get my mg zs ev Feb 2021 do I have to buy a type 2 charging cable

          Well, if you have a tethered charger at home, and you only use rapid chargers away from home it’s possible to get away without a seperate type 2 cable, but if you ever use a 7kW fast charge post you’ll be wanting a type 2 cable. 5 metres usually plenty long enough. I do carry my type 2 cable in the car all the time & I use it to charge opportunistically (take a bit of a charge for free whilst shopping in the supermarket, regard it as being like that 10 per litre off fuel tesco voucher), you’ll pull 20-25 miles worth in an hour. ABC – Always Be Charging!

          The 3 pin slow “granny” charger that comes with your car will probably be used only rarely so you’ll only ever put it in the car if you know you’re going to see a relative where you can plug it in overnight. Consider the granny charger as an emergency device for when the Chargemaster wall charger fails eventually.
