The vans are dropping like flies!

I’m absolutely devastated at the loss of the 2.0TDi VW transporter 9 seater. It looks now like many of the other vans have followed suite. All of the petrol and diesel variants of the Toyota and Vauchalls are gone. The Ford Transit too. *sigh*. Now we have only a couple of fully electric combined vans.

Its rubbish. Especially for wheelchair users who don’t want to pay £10k+ for a WAV adapted van.

This might be the effect of makers having to ditch vehicles outside of the average emissions figures, so they don’t get fines and until they introduce different versions that meet the policies setout by governments.

There will be less choice and fully electric is not suitable for everyone, unless you have off road parking.

Guess it leaves you no real options on the scheme and maybe to get what you want/need, you need to do it outside the scheme. Something i am doing soon.

No way i will pay such high ap’s to lease a car, that’s suitable for our needs. Luckily i can just about to afford to, but not everyone will be able to afford to buy something new and then it means used and maybe less reliability, but we all have Mobile phones nowadays and if you do breakdown it’s not like it was before. Having to find a payphone or go to an sos phone on the motorway.

The scheme is great but as less and less is available and we need to put more and more towards it above the allowance and the fact that soon many makers imo will go fully electric sooner than 2030 as they will not spend any money on newer ice engine development or even hybrid systemsimo.

Now might be the time to get something to keep longer term till things improve with the charging infostructure, for those without the ability to charge at home, that really puts me off electric.
