Make melonade!April 25, 2023 at 7:35 pm #220132oops just posted a link on your other thread!
April 25, 2023 at 7:44 pm #220134That’s the one Winston,
It’s only a key but it’s too big, way too big.
April 25, 2023 at 7:47 pm #220135Yeah i get them trying to be quirky and keep it round but I mean square pockets? ??♂️
those ones you found look much better ??

Make melonade!April 25, 2023 at 7:53 pm #220136I’ve bought a slim carbon fibre looking one, made of metal so adds some weight to the key too!
Came with a rubber JCW strap aswell.April 25, 2023 at 8:04 pm #220137Carbon ones look good Dan, seems a no brainer.
April 25, 2023 at 8:09 pm #220138April 25, 2023 at 8:15 pm #220139I’ve saw those brake ones and I think it’s like something the Borg from Star Trek would come up with ?
But I think they are popular on some of the forums I’ve saw ??♂️

Make melonade!April 25, 2023 at 8:31 pm #220140Probably a fluth/lint magnet aswell!
Is this the one that comes with the JCW or optional extra?
April 25, 2023 at 8:34 pm #220141You just get a normal black one, I don’t think they make that one anymore
April 25, 2023 at 8:35 pm #220142I think it’s just the standard round black key, that’s what I had on my test drive
there’s always a few nice options out there to jazz them up a little
I’ve got a couple of key sleeve type things for my Tiguan at the mo

Make melonade!April 25, 2023 at 8:45 pm #220143What do you guys do about car mats? I always go for rubber ones and ditch the standard “Council” ones
im not gonna go OTT before I’ve even picked it up but I’ve ordered these ones from the Mini on Amazon

When life hands you melons...,
Make melonade!April 25, 2023 at 8:46 pm #220144the standard ones it came with actually feel great quality, didn’t feel the need to change as I hoover quite often.
April 25, 2023 at 9:31 pm #220146That’s good to know mate, I forgot to have a butchers at them on my test drives
tbh the managers car I had was pretty manky both inside and out ??♂️
Certainly not the way I’ll be keeping it lol
When life hands you melons...,
Make melonade!April 25, 2023 at 10:24 pm #220149@Winston Vertu motors are selling a few set of genuine of all weather mats from £49 and genuine boot liners, if thats any help and will save a few bob.
Link above for the genuine key JCW key bit.

Hi everyone,
I hope your well. What do you think the chances are of the JCW staying on next quarter as I’m not due to change until September?
ps saw the JCW in white/red roof and mirrors at dealership and looked amazing.
what’s the thoughts on black 17” alloys or 18” upgrade?
April 27, 2023 at 10:01 am #220225Absolutely no idea mate tbh , you know MB and how quickly it can change – price was reduced by £400 this quarter and delivery times is pretty quick compared to some others
Theres a brand new Mini in the works , electric first then the hatch but still a while off before hitting our roads so I’m guessing they are wanting to max out their orders for this model before it eventually switches to the new one sometime next year
fingers crossed it’s still there when you come to order
reassuring hearing you liked the white/red combo ??
I did go for the upgraded wheels , taste is always personal but I thought they looked better
Not had too much experience with run flats other than a friends GLA which were terrible but these ones on the Mini were absolutely fine, when you hit a rough patch of road or a small pothole it was more a loud Noise than any severe shudder
had the car for 4 hours and it had the run flats on it as I much preferred the look of them i didn’t find any reason not to pick them mate ??
I’d see if you could get a test drive for a few hours in one yourself and see exactly what you thought
fingers crossed for you mate ??

Make melonade!April 27, 2023 at 10:48 am #220231Just to add to my reply , I have saw some people moan about the 18inch run flats on the forums – so it’s all personal choice mate
i take what I read on those forums with a pinch of salt
so hopefully the car is still available next quarter and it’s just a case of you getting some test drives ??

Make melonade!April 27, 2023 at 11:22 am #220238Had runflats on a BMW in 09, back then they had a a bad reputation as being over firm. It was the best drivers car I’ve ever had and even back then, the few % stiffer wasn’t worth mentioning. If you from a car with 155/65/15 to say 205/40/18 then you would feel it but I wouldn’t even factor in versus the way it will drive.
April 27, 2023 at 11:37 am #220240I was pleasantly surprised , I’ve got no experience of the 17’s so they might well be much comfier
I just based it on the looks lol
current car has 255/40/20 and a sports suspension set up and the previous cars before that were similar so I guess I was used to maybe a little firmer
def rides the bumps a little more than my current car but nowhere near a bone shaker and from what I can remember it was nothing that would put me off
won’t be too long now till I get it and see
bet I hate and think it feels like I’m sitting on bricks ?
that would be my luck lol

Make melonade!April 27, 2023 at 11:44 am #220241Im running the 17s and the ride isnt too harsh, road noise is a bit loud on rough motorways.
I prefer them on my all-black mini and they show the big red Brembo brakes well. but its a free option, it makes sense that the 17s would ride a little nicer but the 18s have a more premium look to them. Personal taste I think!April 27, 2023 at 11:46 am #220242They won’t get stolen Winston, by the time the perp has wasted looking and admiring them someone’s bound to spook them away.
Can’t wait to hear about your first road test report mate.
I never asked about running in procedure, any knowledge?

that’s it mate , it’s all personal taste and choice , I don’t think there is a bad decision to be made here ??
have you been anywhere exciting in it recently?
im started to get a bit excited now!
not sure if that’s the imminent arrival of the JCW or new meds ?probably a combination of both haha
As for the running in procedure the only thing I can remember from the rep is that that Launch Control is deactivated until the car reaches 2k miles – not that i plan usi by that much ?
When life hands you melons...,
Make melonade!April 27, 2023 at 11:56 am #220244I agree Dan, if car is all black then black wheels work better. The red trim and calipers are as flash as I can go for, I’d love the chrome belt line to be black too, such a silly overlooked detail from mini.
I might get mine done with the tape as opposed to the full kits. I think the tape is fiddly but decent and solid once done.
