Should certain extras be standard on a new motability vehicle?

Much chatter on the forum about Ap’s and extras.

I think all vehicles on the scheme should come with some extras as a default standard.

      1. Front and rear sensors are essential. Not necessary auto parking though.

Please Add what you think a motability vehicle should come fitted with as standard that would be of benefit to most drivers on the scheme.

      Cheers

        Hi,

i might be wrong, but the reason manufacturers offer extras in pack now is a knock on effect of WLTP (not saying the manufacturers have not used as an opportunity to increase prices) where every different variant of a model needed to be tested so a long options list meant hundreds of combinations that would need to be tested. In sure a motability pack would have come a long way down the list in order of testing for most manufacturers.

Forget automatic folding mirrors and Parking Sensors – for disable people I reckon the #1 technical advance of all time has to be POWER STEERING.

          😀

(I say this after failing to drive my friends’ 1960’s Jag last week.  Embarrassing.)
