It’s a quirk with VW Group cars. There are two different frequencies of servicing that can be selected when the car is configured as part of the pre-delivery inspection. Motability will only pay for the extended servicing option, yet cars are usually set up to alert for services on the more frequent servicing schedule. I have twice had wasted time with service bookings where the car was saying that it needed a service, I booked it in, yet on the day Motability wouldn’t authorise it. Just one of several reasons why I wasn’t sorry to move away from VW when we last changed!
January 18, 2023 at 4:29 pm #206621Ford are also doing similar now, my Kuga on the extendfed service intervals as well.

What dipstick forgot to put it back on the previous service!
One of the reasons why I would never purchase a Mb vehicle is down to them wanting the dealer to wrong service interval-most scheme car’s do frequent short journey’s in stop start traffic and cold starts. The oil quality degrades much quicker, requiring the vehicle to need more oil services. Hence why manufacturers often state in the owners manual the correct service schedule to choose based on how the vehicle is used.

January 18, 2023 at 7:44 pm #206635January 18, 2023 at 7:48 pm #206636i had a problem with the gtd at 3500 miles. they said it needed a liter of oil then.am thinking it came from factory with not enough oil .so in 10000 miles its need 2 liters of oil.never had this problem with any car i have ever owned. this is my first vw.
January 19, 2023 at 2:27 am #206638My Kuga went in for an “interim” service in the autumn where the adblue was topped up and various other checks were done……tyre’s,brakes and a outstanding TSB recall was done,i asked if they were changing the oil and filter as the oil life indicator was showing 20% (manual check in settings) …..no we are not doing that at the moment but if the the oil life indicator light (spanner) comes on before May 2o23 when the car is 2 years old book it in and the oil will be changed.
January 19, 2023 at 8:08 am #206646Manufacturers decided to bring in these extended service intervals, I would guess to appeal to fleet owners. I don’t agree with it and would always change the oil and filter yearly if I owned the car. I don’t blame Motability for adhering to the service guidelines laid down by the mamufacturer.

Gary VI had the same with my Seat, I just pop in and get it reset to stop warning constantly coming up
January 19, 2023 at 12:00 pm #206670So much for QC @Jojoe What did Mb say?
They weren’t interested. Dealer thinks the dipstick was missing since manufacture a year earlier. I’m sceptical about the cause!

Well Joe I’ve heard the micro-chip shortages excuses time and time again but shortage of dipsticks is a first unless of course there meaning their staff. ?
