      Hi all,
I’m looking for some advice regarding my Motability vehicle (2025 Nissan Qashqai) Collected 2 months ago. I originally reported damage to the front wheel and driver-side door, which was assessed by Direct Line and noted as accidental damage. The car was collected by the bodyshop recently, and during their collection assessment, they also noted a deep scratch on the rear bumper that wasn’t part of the original claim.

      Here’s what I’m wondering:

The front damage was clearly logged as accidental damage on the report, but the rear bumper scratch was just noted as damage to the car (not accidental).
Could this mean they’ll treat it differently — for example, possibly as wear and tear?
Is there any chance they’ll still include the rear bumper repair as part of the existing claim?
Has anyone had something similar happen, where additional damage was found during collection? Just trying to get an idea of what to expect from Direct Line.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The rear bumber will be most likely treated as wear and tear however, as its in the body shop, would they do it for you, if not either the body shop or you will have to speak to direct line and get it authorised under the same claim.

Were you aware af the scratch to the bumper?
