September 2, 2024 at 3:04 pm #287759You have to wonder what the quality control people are doing as this is becoming more and more a problem with faults on brand new cars lately, hope you get sorted soonest.
September 2, 2024 at 3:12 pm #287761Yes thanks hope so ,i guess if it problem persists , as some have suggested , i will need to take it up with motability ,i make them aware that car has this issue & is booked into dealership, after just 3 months and has had long journeys, very disapointing.
September 2, 2024 at 3:38 pm #287764Is the petrol cap on tight?
The only way to calculate real mpg is by doing a proper calculation. I.E divide number of litres it tool to fill the tank and divide that by 4.564 to convert to gallons, then divide the number miles driven by gallons used.
September 2, 2024 at 3:43 pm #287765Hi yes my mate checked fuel cap.
September 2, 2024 at 4:03 pm #287766Well kia will have to sort issues or if cant motability take it up with kia .
September 3, 2024 at 10:02 am #287785Its disapointing this happening so soon with new car ,maybe its sensor ,it goes in next tues pm, just hope it doesnt keep happening ,car has been doing long journeys .

First 11 months of my sportage went into garage 4 times,2x airflow sensor issues and 1x oxygen sensor.final straw was sunroof leak(mine was the ‘4’ trim before they removed it.)Totally ruins enjoyment of car and every journey waiting for warnings to reappear. If my kia dealer was decent i would of kept it, but delays for parts customer service being ignored and fobbed off became to stressful,to the point i had enough and ended lease early..The car for the money and tech included is great, but with constant faults and issues just ruined it for me.
September 3, 2024 at 11:14 am #287789Sorry to read that pauld ,hope ,new car good..
September 3, 2024 at 11:26 am #287791Pauld what year was your sportage,? What car have you now .
I will have to see how kia dealership deal with this first problem on my25 gts awd fhev.
September 3, 2024 at 11:40 am #287794Aug 2022 i picked my sportage up..Have the bmw i4 .Do miss the blind spot camera on the kia and the 360 camera too which IMO is better than the i4 360 cam.Such a shame i had so many issues.I really hope you just have this one issue micky because they are great cars,i guess i was a little unlucky..
September 3, 2024 at 11:44 am #287795Yes i do like car ,hope its just one off ,im not pannicking , i guess have heard of so many different issues with sportage, SURELY kia have sorted all on my25, will add note after its been in service . Thanks.
September 3, 2024 at 11:45 am #287796Bless you pauld
September 3, 2024 at 7:14 pm #287842I’m guessing this problem will be the GPF issue which you were warned about on earlier cars. Seems they haven’t fixed it for the MY25 cars after all.
I’m also wondering if the poor fuel consumption figures you are experiencing is down to the GPF trying to regen while you are driving. Somebody else on here had this on an earlier car.
Hope you get it fixed Micky. If it continues to happen, you always have the option of “rejecting” it with Motability, getting a pro rata refund of the AP and starting again, but let’s hope it doesn’t get that far.
You could always order a Mercedes CLA (only joking) !!
2024 - BMW i4 Grand Coupe eDrive 35 Sport
2020 - Volvo XC40 T4 Inscription
2017 - Audi Q3 TFSi Sport S-TronicSeptember 3, 2024 at 7:22 pm #287844Mercedes lol.
Ive read this emissions control lamp on permanetly is several reasons but says car burning too much fuel, or not enough fuel too rich etc , i said to my mate i still think im only getting 28mpg ,?? It tells me 40mpg,, anyway if it continues with errors i will have to look at some decission, it goes in dealership 10th , ive kept motability & kia customer care advised of problems.
September 3, 2024 at 7:23 pm #287845Sorry to hear your issues with the Sportage Micky!
I still haven’t had mine yet and have only contacted the dealership twice since ordering in March, Today, I was spoken to rudely put on hold without notification and then he re answered the phone like it was a new call (so think he actually tried to put the phone down on me) told me to call back another day to speak to the guy I ordered with? I don’t know how that makes much difference in looking on the order system? after todays treatment and told they don’t know when as its still not in production, ill be going in and cancelling tomorrow.
Ive spoken to Hyundai and they have a Tuscon in stock for me if I order tomorrow they said I can collect in a week or so. So that’s what i’m doing. I have to bite the bullet and pay an extra £600 AP but I don’t think I want to deal with my local KIA in the event of an issue.
Hope you get yours sorted.
September 3, 2024 at 7:33 pm #287846Hi caruro ,sorry to hear your still waiting, you know sometimes i think all sales dealerships are same ,they do lie ,they put an act on, my kia has been on long journeys ,i had odd satnav issues but that seems better ,10th has map update ,but this EMISSION CONTROL LAMP thing on is nuissance ,i see if its fixed on 10th, if keeps reocureing ,well another plan ,at present i would advise tucsan, dont
t take any crap from dealership , i know exactly how you fell . Hope your sorted soon with car.

September 3, 2024 at 7:49 pm #287851Unless Kia have been cradt and put the PPF / emission control light together, I’d say it a faulty Airmass meter/EGR Valve or O2 sensor!
pitty you didn’t have an OB” code reader.
September 3, 2024 at 7:53 pm #287852Yes kezo you are probably correct ,you have mechanical knowledge hope its not bigger issue, for those with sportages ,i keep posted on outcome .
Life goes on 🤞

Ive has the facelift Tucson PHEV since June 🤞 its been great.
September 3, 2024 at 8:09 pm #287858Nice kezo. & i hope my sportage will again be nice as before light came on dash ,
September 3, 2024 at 8:24 pm #287860What did model did you go for? How have you found the PHEV? I was looking at the Ultimate Hybrid.
I noticed that my Motability account only updated in June to ‘The dealer has ordered the car” prior to June it was showing as Application Passed. And didn’t know if this was normal or not, when I went in Last week of July I was told then it was showing as not currently in manufacture and they told me it was ordered 14th April (I placed my order with them on the 28th March)
I like the look of both the Tuscon and the Sportage, I know they are sister vehicles but need an automatic ASAP and needs to be SUV height due to back and hip problems.

I Opted for the N Line S this time with having the Ultimate previously however, I wish I’d gone for the Ultimate with beige leather interior!
Nice kezo. & i hope my sportage will again be nice as before light came on dash ,
It will mate, have faith 🙂
September 4, 2024 at 10:32 pm #287925Cancelled my Kia order this morning went into showroom and no one was around (15 mins after opening time) apparently they have a half an hour meeting as soon as they open and no one other than receptionist is available! shambles to say the least. I waited and made sure the order was cancelled.
Went to Hyundai and they have a stock Tuscon Ultimate HEV for me in Grey which is what I’d have ordered anyway, however unsure of the interior colour but not fussed as need an Auto ASAP. will let you know when I get it which he said will be mid to end of next week as its in stock!. So pleased!
Let us know how it goes with the car Micky
