Got a major shock this morning as I’ve put on ten pounds during the last six weeks. Dieting at this time of year isn’t easy but I need to get on top of this ?

        Same here,

When I stepped out of the shower this morning, dripping wet, and wearing nothing but a smile, my lady wife glanced over and said –

        Wow Mike ‘ you’re HUGE ‘.

This was going to make my morning I can tell you, my luck was in, but then I realised we were thinking at crossed purposes, when she says strict diet for you from now on.

So, I suggested that we try the new ‘sex diet’ ?

apparently, 30 minutes of energetic foreplay is the equivalent of burning off 1 Waitrose mince pie & a small glass of vino, & 40 minutes = as above but a full glass of wine
        Or
30 minutes of 69 = a Smoked Salmon sandwich , two rounds of bread, cup of tea with 1 sugar, but no milk
        And finally,
5 minutes of full ‘thingy’ = a 10 oz. Ribeye ,medium rare, teaspoon of Bernaise sauce, half a jacket potato , no butter.

Beats that bl00dy’ cabbage diet’ every time.

DH reckons it’s more fun than 10 minutes on the exercise bike, that’s for sure. 😀

On a serious note, my specialist told me the NHS is concerned about “de-conditioning” and weight gain.

I have lost 2 stone and my diabetes reading reading consistently between 5 – 6

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

I had lost 22kg but with this shielding because of CV 19 I’ve put 5kg back on ?

Well done guys good to see we have members with will power.

I blame my parents for my overeating, I remember getting told “finish everything on your plate before you get your curry” lol

Having the bread bin next to the kettle was my Achilles heel.  You can make a Marmite sarnie in the time it takes the kettle to boil and then eat it while the tea is brewing . . .

Thank you all for your constructive hints and tips on weight gain. Will try them all (non-fibre diet permitting) on Mrs T in the desperate attempt to get her back up to pre-operations weight. The fact that she was universally known in family as “skinny bird” before the op’s does not help! Tonight it’s home-made skate and chips. Skate is fresh off the boat at  Shoreham this morning. Followed by tiramisu (not mine!) or Sainsbury’s Yuletide Chokky log topped with Grom ice cream. I mean, how immoral is that!

I’ve just found out why I put on so much weight, I just came home from a walk and found a stone in my shoe lol
