Does anyone know how to get oil based paint off a fabric car seat? My q3 is meant to go back soon and may lose my good condition bonus. Anyone know good products to get paint off a seat? Tried everything from wd 40, white spirit etc

Wilko used to do a product that got rid of paint. I once got gloss paint all over my suit and it cleaned that.

            What you will need
            Turpentine
            Detergent
            Steps to Clean
            Scrape up excess paint.
Using a clean white cloth, blot up as much paint as possible.
Using a clean white cloth, blot the stain with turpentine.  Tamp the stain to help break up the paint.
Keep applying turpentine to the stain, tamping and blotting until the paint is removed.
Sponge the stain with waterless hand cleaner.
Mix one (1) tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with two (2) cups of cool water.
Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.
Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
Repeat Steps 7 and 8 until the stain disappears.
Sponge with cold water and blot dry to remove the detergent solution.

If it’s dried on and thick you’ll need to carefully dab it with paint stripper using a small tooth or paint brush.

Then very carefully scrape  the top surface with a pen knife or Stanley blade, damp the area with cold soapy water to neutralise the paint stripper after.

Then used a car upholstery shampoo on the seat give the painty are a careful scrub, let it dry and then vacuum the seats, repeat if needed.

Panel wipe and a good going over with an upholstery cleaner, had to do a few in my time.

Cellulose thinners removes most paint products – aggressively.

Use with extreme caution,  try a pinpoint area first, and see if it works and doesn’t affect the fabric.
