£800 increase on the EPower QQ 🙁

Renault AustralApril 3, 2023 at 3:01 pm #217639£800 increase on the EPower QQ
Yeh they can kiss my ass if they think I’m going to pay £4k for a QQ E-power or not!
April 3, 2023 at 3:01 pm #217640£4000 for a Tekna QQ, no thanks 🙁
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
April 3, 2023 at 3:12 pm #217643From what I can gather up to yet – Mazda CX-5 has increased by 20% Nissan QQ 20%+ and most other manufacturers AP’s down a bit?
April 3, 2023 at 3:18 pm #217646Indeed, it’s a pretty mixed bag.
To be honest the Exclusive Line Maxda at £2500-£3000 is built to a much higher standard and has more driver safety features etc. than the QQ Tekna at £4000.
You may get less mpg but the £1000 would more than cover the differnce over the 3 years (according to my usage).
Of course there’s also the Kuga Vignale at £2645 for their top spec and good mpg.

April 3, 2023 at 3:25 pm #217648Nissan have told me the X-trail is no longer on the scheme despite being on their own motability pricing.
I have had a similar experience this morning with trying to order a Kuga Vignale hybrid with it on Fords price list but motability wont let the dealer order as it’s computer says no!.
April 3, 2023 at 3:25 pm #217649Kuga Vignale FHEV that is.
Dealer I spoke to said no problem ordering but 4-6 months wait time.
I do wish they’d increase the post edit time, some of us with brain problems need a bit longer to get things right or even remember what we wanted to say in the first place 🙂

April 3, 2023 at 3:31 pm #217653I agree @Phaedra I had the Tuscon ICE, The PHEV was £3.5k more. That £3.5k will see 3yrs worth of fuel with a littles change. I’m just kicking myself because I went back to manual, which my knee and foot doesn’t thank me for. So agreed with MB I will be able to have an early termination or leave at this rate!
April 3, 2023 at 10:08 pm #217700Ref the Kuga, has anyone been clever enough to work out what sort of mileage you’d have to do to more than offset the additional £65 per month (plus cost of charging) that the PHEV models cost over the non plug-in hybrid? Also, what sort of mpg does the FHEV auto achieve in real world driving?
April 3, 2023 at 10:44 pm #217701Most posts I’ve seen about the FHEV say 50-51mpg.
I may see if I can be bothered to go back to the Ford garage tomorrow and see if the Motability person is in, the one I’ve used there previously was very good. At the moment I’m a bit fed up with it all and trying not to put any stress on my heart with worrying about it, still got to see yet another consultant and apparently 3 new meds to sort out. Add waiting for an MRI for the clot and things are going really well!!!.
I’m leaning towards keeping the Ateca until something better comes along at a sensible price (HaHa) just have to get used to not being able to drive it when it snows or is very wet 🙂

April 3, 2023 at 11:16 pm #217704Dealer managed to order the kuga 2.5l Duratec FHEV 190PS CVT Automatic FWD £2695 in Lucid red today.
This was following Motability saying it wasn’t on the scheme but the dealers list said different.
April 3, 2023 at 11:30 pm #217705Excellent, good for you 🙂
Did he give you a timescale for delivery?

It was from stock, so about a week. ??
April 4, 2023 at 7:37 am #217716Wow, mine said 4-6 months!
Which dealer was it? It may well be worth a trip to get one that quickly! 🙂

It was Evans Halshaw Ford.
April 4, 2023 at 8:13 am #217718Thanks 🙂
We have one in Darlington about 30 miles away so not too bad 🙂

I have used Zap Map Tools which is a reasonably accurate comparison based on 8,000 mile per year.
Ford Kuga PHEV vs Hybrid based on petrol @ 1.47 pence litre.
PHEV electric @ 20 pence kWh 11.3 pence a mile = £908
PHEV electric @ 34 pence kWh 14 pence a mile = £1123
Hybrid at 45 mpg 14.85 pence a mile £1188.00
Kuga PHEV ST £4145/Hybrid £2495 AP difference = £1650 or £45.83 a month.
Kuga PHEV ST X £5045/Hybrid 2695 AP difference £2350 or £65.28 month.
Based on these figures a hybrid running cost over a 36 month lease £3564, a PHEV @ 20 pence a kWh £2724 a saving of £840 over a 36 month lease, or a a more realistic 34 pence @ kWh £3369 a saving of £195 over a 36 month lease.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.
April 4, 2023 at 9:25 am #217726I may be doing this wrong but the PHEV’s work out a lot more expensive over the 3 years even at 11.3p/Mile

Nothing wrong with your figure, quite similar to my estimates, you have gone one step further and added the AP’s on, it mind blowing expensive.
I might go mad a lease a Hyundia Kona 64kWh Ultimate £2099 and 5 pence a mile @ 20 pence a kWh, £400 a year, £1200 over a 36 month lease total £3299.

April 4, 2023 at 10:18 am #217732No problem at all 🙂
I’ve emailed the nearest Evans Halshaw branch to see what they come back with, I had a Kuga back in 2014/15, unfortunately a massive hail shower covered it in very large dents!. Motability’s preferred repair people completely ruined it, had about 6 chances to sort it out but each time it came back with things that weren’t wrong to start with!. Eventually it went to a Ford main dealer, got sorted and a couple of months later I lost my award so had to hand it back!.

April 4, 2023 at 7:03 pm #217801The facelifted Kuga coming later this year has some nice changes.
(These are pictures of the Ford Escape which i believe is what the Kuga is called in other countries)

Renault AustralApril 4, 2023 at 8:15 pm #217810Well my Kuga was taken by another dealership because motability took too long to approve the order as it wasn’t on their system ????
I was told this morning that there are only 4 FHEV’s in the country so I am back to square one again.
April 4, 2023 at 8:28 pm #217813I believe the facelift is now in the uk and available as the the 23.25 model and the only difference is the bigger infotainment system but I may be wrong.
April 4, 2023 at 8:48 pm #217818Tbh i like both exteriors. That Sync4 system though is miles better than Sync3.
