I’ve just learned that the new car payment ends at the end of this year. Well that’s a big problem for me as all the cars I’d shortlisted relied on that payment, so I’m now back to the drawing board.
They say it was given as new car prices were expensive, well I ain’t seen the prices come down, I’ve just seen APs go up.
I wonder will they extend it.
I just looked at 2nd car prices and the salary sacrifice scheme. Wow insane prices
Mobility is by far the best if you don’t have much disposable income, but losing that 750 is a big hit tbh.

Omg I didn’t know that I was waiting to see January 1st prices I will phone motability later to confirm this
November 13, 2023 at 10:20 am #243324Yeah I seen it on someone’s post yesterday and checked with motabillities website. Ends end of December.
I’ve had a look online and while new car prices are expected to take a slight drop they are still way more expensive than they were a few years ago.
I might drop them an email to see if it will be extending it as nothing much has changed. I believe it’s mobility operations I need to contact.
November 13, 2023 at 10:40 am #243325The new vehicle payment cut off date of 31st December 2023 only applies to ‘new to scheme’ customers.
If you were already a customer on 1st Jan 2022 you will get it whenever you change to your next vehicle on the scheme (unless you have already received it as it is only paid once).

There is a ‘checker’ on the Motability website to confirm if/when you will receive the payment:
November 13, 2023 at 10:45 am #243326Thank goodness for that Dave I’ve been on motability 23 years
November 13, 2023 at 10:56 am #243328This has been brought up before and only applies to those applying for their “first” vehicle, as pointed out by @BigDave
November 13, 2023 at 11:13 am #243329Phew that’s a big help. In my defense I’ve had 1 brain hemorrhage and 7 strokes so my brain usually has a sign up saying ‘puter says noooo’ lol.
It’s like that Enyaq thread it has me completely bamboozled. I honestly can’t work out if the Enyaq is still on the scheme and what models are. There’s two much information and brain just says feck that.
Mind I can’t order until mid February so I’ll have 1 quarter just passed and 1 quarter approaching. Not to worried about new cars coming on (as they usually have the highest ap). Just that there’s a few cars I really like now and hoping with two new quarters I may get a great deal on one of them.
Ps sorry Mike lol

I think the Kona is superior to the Niro in the area’s you mention. Going to have a closer look this week, see if it big enough for us.
If you need to navigate the touch screen, it will be much easier on a 12″ than 4″ ish in the Niro 2.

Indeed you are right, just checked 🙂
I’d still opt for the Kona, if it was large enough due to the heatpump coming as standard, its £900 option on the Niro if you specifically ask for one, along with the physical buttons the Kona gets.
