I’ve just watched a couple of YouTube vids on the all-new Tiggy. It should be available Q1. I wonder what models we’ll see on the scheme? I like the look of it, but maybe with the 12″ centre screen – that 15″ looks ridiculously big!

I’ve watched a review of the Tiguan and have a few reservation about the Mk3.

I’m currently in 7 month’s of my Mk2.5 Tiguan so looking at the Mk3 with interest and one thing I’ve noticed in the review is the indicator control has moved to the left-hand side of the steering wheel and that would mean myself having to upgrade my adaption from a 7 way control to the 10 way version to control the wipers even though of course it has auto-wipers, another £175 out of pocket cost to me on top of the already £475.

Another thing I don’t like is the gear shift on the steering wheel. Not a big fan of the all in one seats and headrest, might be OK in a F1 car but I personally don’t like it in a normal road car.

I don’t like the iPad style infotainment screen but I guess this along with built in headrests is the way things are now.

Much that I love my current Tiguan I can see I won’t be jumping at the chance of a new one in two and half years time thought the plug-in version would be a temptation.

It’s a shame that the press photos that I’ve seen are all a red car which, IMHO, doesn’t suit the Tiguan. Anyone got any links to better colours?

              Glos Guy,

I was actually looking at YouTube reviews. I think it looks stunning in this semi-matt green. I also think it looks awful in red.

Many thanks. Yes, much better in that colour.

Looks are subjective, but I think it’s a bit bland. That does seem to be VWs styling direction though. It’s a great shame that they’ve kept those ugly grey plastic trims along the side sills and wheel arches on the non-R Line models. As well as cheapening the look of the car, it’s a bugger to clean things such as polish residue off it. Also a bit daft that they’ve incorporated a rotary controller but it only has very limited functionality, so you are forced to use the touchscreen for most things, which is far less easy / safe when driving.

I’d need a damned good test of it to convince myself that VW has improved the tech considerably over the current model, especially the infotainment system, adaptive cruise control and adaptive headlights – all of which were very poor on our last Tiguan, especially when compared to those in our current BMW

Worth watching the What Car? review of it as well. A bit more comprehensive than the AutoExpress one. They also mention that interior quality seems to have taken a step backwards.

Agreed re. What Car? review being better – thanks.

We will want an extended test drive before any possible purchase decision for exactly the points you’ve raised. We’re considering it seriously because the boot door aperture is larger than most cars currently on the scheme, and that is an issued with our hoist requirement.

Gotta be honest, I wanted to like it, … but i’m just not.

Not to worry, there’s something for everyone.

Still wanting to see what the new Skoda Kodiaq brings, as well as the Ssangyong Torres.

Also hoping the new Kodiaq comes onto the scheme. Will take a close look at it if it does.

Must order by 14th March, whatever happens.
