My poor Mum!

Hi all, I’m in my 5th Motability car and have never had any real issues.

My Mum, new to the scheme due to a progressive disease at the start of 2021 she ordered herself a Ford Puma Vignalle Auto with optional panoramic roof. The day before her collection she was called by the garage to say that a gate had swing open on the car in the forecourt and needed a new for panel. They offered no reduction on AP/Options as goodwill, so she subsequently cancelled the order and went back out to market to find an alternative.

Last week she settled on the Seat Arona Xcellence Lux and in desperation to find a dealer with one available she ended up 40 miles away. She went to collect this morning and on her way home she got the Oil Pressure Low Warning and had to pull over and she’s now back home again without her new car.

Rotten luck!! Any advice? Because obviously she now has doubts about owning an Arena which has had an issue straight from the factory.

Reject it outright if she’s worried about it. If it were me & having had that luck to date I would let them repair it, it’s probably something stupid like wiring or a faulty pressure switch. I’ve had cars from the factory with missing grommets when then ate the wiring & caused similar faults.

Anything other than a repair & she’s without a car & inconvenienced again.

I’d explain just because a cars new doesn’t make infallible. Had friends in a Qashqai under a year old suddenly lose power on the motorway.

It’s all rotten luck I hope it gets turned around for her ASAP.
