Great idea, but inevitably a novelty buy.  I drove around in a sliding door Morris J4 a million years ago.  The strange thing about it was the mechanical parts and suspension were pretty much MGB.  It would have been a tempting project but the floor was rusting out of it. Love those old J4’s Wigwam, I used to ride around in the passenger side of one.

Like you say, mostly niche novelty buy.  However, I’m hoping that EV world will bring about more small volume manufacturers and innovators, rather like there used to be, at least until the giants have merged the good ones.

I just love the simplicity and practicality of the new one.

My late grandad had a late J4 caravanette, he used to take my grandma daytrips in 🙂

However the images above say its a JE series or is it an earlier JB series!

I can’t remember VW buying into Morris or Austin and as Bandit says and leave them to small volume EV manufacturers and preferably British ones, if we have any left.

The green one is the original J series. The others called JE for J Electric?

I can’t see a green one, only pink and blue not watched the video though.

What I meant to say but, fooked up, was it looked like the 1950’s J van with the B series engine (JB)

The JE must mean J seies electric (JE) Interestingly it has a 200 mile range and there’s a pickup version.

Interesting Taxi or fast food van?
