Can I ask anyone with this car to comment on their experience

I ask because after a huge period of looking at everything available I keep coming back to this car.

Forget range I am not interested in range we have had an EV for too long for range to be an issue. I know there are some who wake up in the middle of the night and want to drive the M25 I am not one of them

I am just happy to wake in the morning on a regular basis.

thing is I think this is a good well built car

so what do the owners think

Have you had a test drive? It’s a superb small car…. so much so I’ve snapped one up. It’s a bargain on the scheme right now, like you I’m not concerned about the range and cannot wait to pick mine up in November.

Thought you said you had a bmw 2 series coupe Jan, are you changing it for the mini EV

I do have a 2CG but I’m within my new vehicle order window and fancy a change.

The Mini EV is just so much fun to drive, after all the 2GC is built on the same platform.

Great choice the mini EV Jan, will be fun to drive and cheap to run.

                  Check out this channel.

He has just got rid of the EV mini as he couldn’t charge at home, but you may find some useful info all the same.

I only got half way through the video, its obvious the chap hadn’t really thought about how any EV would fit in with his needs and lifestyle.

It is something you do need to consider carefully.

Also, not all disabilities are the same so it would be good to see a positive slant as a balance from someone with access needs.

Well it seems to me the video is not about the Mini in fact he relays a posited vibe for the car, this is more about the ridiculous infasructure for EV in the UK.

fortunately we do have a home charger and a cable permanently attached so far in 20k miles I have only charged at a Lidl once and intend to keep it that way so still positive about the mini

Yup, I quite agree. A city BEV car (small battery) really does need a home charge point.

                        – Sorry, I thought he might have done a video on the car itself, my bad.

yes he doesn’t seem unhappy with the car just the concept, which to be fair after a couple of years with EV I can understand. If I did my research today I feel it would be less likely for me to risk the switch, with a home charger I couldn’t afford to switch back now.
Plus we appear to have a government and an opposition that will greenwash for votes so I hope they let the car manufacturers know as they are all heading for 2030 after all it takes longer to change an automated production line than a Downing Street party. Do I guess we will see what happens next.

Kezo I like it but another reason for the Mini is we can get 6 hour cheap charge but for the ora it would only be 4 that means the Mini can be fully charged everyday for 7.5 p per KW

so that’s a factor as well

Hi @Windy, reason I mentioned Ora, is it Nil AP and £500 cashback from Chorley group, which local dealers would likely match.

no is the simple answer I have been with Octopus since slightly before owning an EV but I was always open to change until the crisis sorry I meant  the governments induced let’s hide behind a crisis and control the people scheme.

anyway point is since then I am a bit reluctant to play around as I survived the whole increase period at £150 per month house and car plus it’s now dropping by about £15 and the mini although won’t drop the price I could get another 300 miles a week at no extra cost.

Problem is I have Asperger’s which sometimes can be really useful.

I’ve had mine 3 weeks and it’s a great little car. It’s just as fun to drive as my Mini Cooper S sport that I had before it.

Well spec’d, cracking drive, and a bit of a bargain on Motability at the moment. Even got £500 knocked off so got my £250 GCB and £750 new car payment to stick in my pocket.

So we arranged a test drive for the Mini as we all know test drives can be difficult to organise, so imagine my surprise I collected it at 10 am, so I could take it home to show my wife who has the need and take her out. How long have I got ? I asked well we would like it back before 6 so we can put it away. Fantastic I said see you later, oh no was a quick response 6 tomorrow. So absolutely staggered I set off on my 30 hour test drive covered 220 miles visited all the cars that we had on the list to compete with the Mini including The Leaf, Funky Cat, MG4, Megane , and in our opinion although that’s the point just our opinion the Mini stayed on top.

so here is how it will look when it arrives
