      Hi all.

On the day of the demo of the Citroën Belingo XL WAV, I was told that it would be delivered in the first week of May. Obviously it hasn’t and now they are saying it will be August, can I ask around other dealers to see if any have one in stock? I sold my car believing I was going to get my WAV, the only mode of transport I have is my mobility scooter, which is not ideal as I live in a rural area.

Yes you can and if you see something, you can cancel the original order and place order with new dealership.

Yep but I wouldn’t cancel until you find an in-stock car. Other dealers might tell you they can get you the car earlier but unless its in stock its a gamble and they might say at a later date that its going to be delayed.

My car changed from 1st May to the 30th June. I will likely be cancelling mine if its delayed again but I will shop around first.

As you state your vehicle is a WAV, it maybe more tricky than with a ‘normal’ scheme vehicle.

WAV converters mostly build the conversion from the base vehicle to order and can take a few months to do so.

Therefore it is highly unlikely any WAV converter will have a fully built WAV to meet your bespoke needs and specification ‘in stock’.

They are not allowed to sell on the scheme a ‘demo’ vehicle either as these are pre-registered and not permitted (unless going down the ‘nearly new WAV’ route where a pre-registered or returned WAV may be available but these are like finding rocking horse droppings).

Also, if you received a grant towards the WAV you will have to speak to Motability Grants before you do anything as it will have been costed at the converter’s rate for the particular WAV and it’s specific adaptions (tail lifts, tie downs, seat layout etc).

If you get the go-ahead then by all means try other WAV converters. However as the vehicles are bespoke converted after ordering, it may take longer than waiting for your already ordered WAV.

My car was just delayed for another 2 months. I thought the market was getting better but 3 delays makes me think otherwise.
